eeee oh my gosh i’m here for david with a bat, i LOVE bats!! tiny little cutes! and they have a similar PR problem to snakes, and they uh, hear a lot of things we can’t... like the screaming in david’s head... oh boy. imagine her flitting round the yoga room & freaking people out even more whenever they come to visit the prisoner.

hahaha wow, it never occurred to me before that colin was so desperate for a pet that he literally tried to build one from scratch, and re-invented the concept of keeping pets in a society with no animals. here is a man who was really SERIOUSLY not flourishing emotionally at marscorp. aw jeez. even the name, comfort buddy, how could we have known back in E1 how totally colin that is? and it didn’t work out but it doesn’t matter because he found another cute little living thing to play with! fffffff u c k

YESSS. i actually met a magpie in the park yesterday, i didn’t even have enough storage to take a pic :/ but i did notice when it puffed up, it got big fancy fluffy head-hair that was totally dave. imagine her wearing glittery little bird accessories to match her human! i think i’ve decided to call her cigfa (pronounced KIGva?) welsh, am i right??? fuckin... welsh... she’s a minor mythological character who definitely had at least some Class Drama to deal with

i don’t know what colin would have, BUT!!! a) imagine him also with a snake (would suit tbf) and bb david is delighted when cybele settles that way too. also, if they have similar daemons, that would really play into colin’s whole “you & me against the universe, buddy” thing (EUGH) plus a constant reminder to everyone else, once david gets out of prison, of how he & colin were equally terrible & evil. b) imagine colin with something else and bb david is upset when cybele doesn’t settle that way. please join me in hell.

i’m really glad you said that bc i was thinking the same thing!! ughghgh wouldn’t that be so cute? i have to say, i don’t really remember if it’s explained in the novels what happens to daemons when their humans lose body parts. otoh i don’t really care because a grumpy beaver with a tiny robot hand is all i want in this life.
