My dad's dog, whom we've has since I was in high school, had cancer but was still being the goodest farty girl in the world. She tried really hard to still show love and affection and act like a healthy dog. Then my dad tried to feed her last night and she stopped eating - I found out he had to put her down today and I'm just feeling really heartbroken rn. She may have been a chunk and done naughty stuff like sneak chicken bones off my palate when I wasn't paying attention or fart to high heaven or come sit right on my feet so her nails would cut me, but she was also a very sweet girl who would do a little excited dance when she would wait for me to open the door for her to pee and snuggle with me and let me take silly photos of her no matter what and get excited when I would go over to the house on weekends and after classes.
It's legit not going to be the same without her
