Romans 5:19 lets us know that because all men were made sinners by Adam’s disobedience, likewise, by the obedience of Christ, we’ve been made righteous. We’re no longer separated from the life of God. By virtue of the new birth, Christ has taken up His abode in the quarters of our hearts. Christ isn’t around you, neither is He merely with you; He’s in you: “...Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). The glory that was lost in Adam has been restored in Christ. We’ve been glorified in Christ. Hallelujah! This glory is even greater than what Adam had in the Garden of Eden. It’s greater than the glory of the Old Testament. Our glory in Christ Jesus is “...the glory that excelleth” (2 Corinthians 3:10); the excellent glory (2 Peter 1:17). In the Garden, Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord, walking. But with us, the presence of God isn’t just a voice walking around us; that voice is in you. You house the glory of God. He lives in you—in every fibre of your being, in every cell of your blood, and in every bone of your body. It’s the excellent glory.
