Heart of the Machine.

A Fasttracker 2 track with an industrial sound, with emotions. It makes me think of a mechanical heart ten stories high that beats in the darkness. I've always wanted to do a mechanical sound like this, but it needed to have feelings, too. The whole track is on my YouTube channel. This actually lay dormant in my collection for many years, until I finished it recently. It makes me happy to be able to share it. I always wanted to make music for video games. This seems fitting. It started out as a simple idea, and I just began adding new themes and ideas to it, until it became this journey, a kind of multi-part escape heist, desperate to emerge in one piece! Eventually I realized this had become a full track, and what resulted is the complete project. This comes from my YouTube channel, where I have been releasing all of the tracker music I made over the years, tracks I've never shown publicly before! It has been an amazing journey, and I'm grateful to everyone who takes the time to listen to my music. I love Fasttracker 2!

Requiem

A Fasttracker 2 track I made! High energy techno with some Gregorian chant. Then halfway through it changes to something very different. Thoughtful and emotional. The last section is a kind of reflection on mortality, and it ends with a ticking clock, a reminder that time, after all, is all we have. Z-Factor

I composed this track in Fasttracker 2 in just two days. July 23-24, 1998. The tone was inspired by the album "Beyond The Infinite" by Juno Reactor, one of my favorite albums. It has a dark, powerful energy, using 26 channels. That album has a particular style, of enormous structures with metallic textures and expansive environments. My intent was to bring some of that energy into this track. It has a heavy bass and a kick drum alternating, and a choir so it would carry emotion alongside the thumping bass. I made a few versions of this track, which I may release later. This is the original.

During these years I was discovering how to compose music. I had dreams of being a professional composer and fantasized about being on a stage with my synthesizers and a brilliant light show. Although this did not come to pass, composing brought me a great deal of joy. It was like having secret worlds I could visit in my imagination . I wanted to build large structures full of emotion and intense feelings.

I rescued a lost archive of electronic music I made as a teenager in Fasttracker 2 between 1997-2000. Never shared the publicly. Only ever heard by me for decades. There's a large catalog of hundreds of tracks that I'm releasing on YouTube as Fregmazors!
