so I’ve kept this hush until we found out what’s wrong - poncho’s right hand has been swollen and the vet initially tested for fluid and thought it might’ve been some inflammation that would go down.
it wasn’t that, and now we got an x-ray done, and turns out my egg daughter somehow broke her wrist! (left is healthy, right is broken) he said it has healed up and that her hand will probably just remain Fat but that she’s healthy. this was actually a great outcome because mom and I were terrified that it was a tumor and that she’d end up losing her hand. so we’re super relieved to hear it was a minor break that’s already healed.
I talked to a Trusted Friend of mine in the reptiblr community that knows Lots of stuff, because I was feeling a bit guilty, like this was my fault or something. but I was assured it couldn’t have been lack of calcium or anything like that, because lack of calcium bones are wobbly or warped. makes sense!
my best guess to how this happened? she got her claw stuck in fabric/carpet/etc and tried to yank it out. I’m just super glad it turned out to be a minor break and is healed and I don’t have to worry about a tumor or cancer or something else hurting my baby.
the main reason I posted this is so if you see her Fat Hand in further photos, just know that’s been addressed and she’s okay!
