The shattering sound from the alleyway had the small girl tense up.
At first her heart raced preparing her to run off, there were many who wished her harm. They wished to harm her for being a thief, for being an urchin.. And for being mad as she claimed to be a saint who would save them all. Some of them even feared her and called her a murderer after they saw her next to a soul who she couldn’t save. Despite all that she wanted to help them all.
So there she was.. Now standing at the entry of an alleyway watching the one who wither in pain. Knapa didn’t feel fear as she approached them. She had to do it. “I want to help.” The girl replied with annoyance when questioned.
For a moment longer Knapa watched the stranger. They seemed rather familiar for some reason. Maybe they were one of those who had chased after her as part of the mob or one of those who had backed her to a corner with a knife on her throat before being pushed back so she could run away.. Or maybe Knapa mistook them for being someone else. No matter who they were or what they had done she prepared to help them. No one deserved to be left alone.
“Let me heal you.” The saint lowered herself on her knees next to the suffering woman and rest her hands on them. She felt their body from their shoulder to their arms and at last to their stomach. There was no magical light nor words of a prayer. All the girl did was rest her small hands on the woman’s abdomen.
And then the pain was gone.
