I feel like I'm bragging, but it feels SO GOOD to watch an animation of my characters that looks somewhat official. It fires me up so much. I HAVE to make this a real show now because seeing it for real makes it feel even better than imagining it in my head.
I can do it! The animation looks a bit cheap, but I'm one person, so I don't mind. I think the style I've chosen works.
If you guys have been following along recently, I finished the pilot script and put out a casting call for voice actors.
Now- the bad news: there are not enough auditions. I figured I could keep pushing it and sharing in as many places as possible, but it occured to me that even if I scrounged up enough VAs now, my audience and reach is so small that whatever pilot we manage to make is going to be seen by only a few dozen people at most. I need to build an audience deliberately over time and THEN make the pilot. If I can't I'll just end up throwing something into the void with no traction.
The answer was clear... I need to postpone the pilot indefinitely. Again.
I am super grateful for the auditions I recieved and the support you guys have given me. I feel pretty bad to have to make an announcement like this, but it was too ambitious for me at the moment. I need to step back, regroup and gather the resources I need to make it properly.
So. What's the good news?
I've rederected my efforts into a version of Fatekeepers that I can make without needing a crew and without much monetary commitment. We're doing a comic.
The comic will act as the pilot- showing off the story in a way that should help people fall in love with the characters and get excited about what's to come. I'm turning the pilot script into a comic, so you'll get the same story I've been planning this whole time.
I'm going to try my best to get it done quickly and make it worthy of your time. Thanks again for all your support. I'm excited for what's coming, even if the road we're taking is going to be a bit different than I hoped. The show is still happening! It's just got to happen properly and I don't have confidence in my current capabilities.
As thanks for reading this far, here's a sneak peak of what's to come:
Fatekeepers is the animated series I'm working on about a team of 'heroes' who travel between worlds and stop bad guys. I made some pages of info if you don't mind zooming in to read, but the basic jist of it is that five people from very different worlds are brought together to protect order under the Three Fates- hence the name Fatekeepers. The five characters are deeply flawed and struggle to see eye to eye, which makes the show more drama-focused than strictly action-adventure.
I'm finishing up the script now and double checking one last time to see if I can offer money to voice actors. (Which would be awesome)
If you have any questions about the characters or my little posts, let me know! I love yapping about these guys!
hey there!! i’m a Christian too and i love ur acc :) how can we support the production of fatekeepers?
Hi, thank you so much for asking!
Currently, I'm looking for VA auditions for the pilot. So, if you're interested in voice actors, here's the casting call.
Probably the best way to support is to reblog and share things about the show, so people get excited for it. But honestly, just being interested in it is a great motivator for me to keep working hard!
I also have a Ko-Fi in my blog description, if you meant supporting financially. I won't ever turn down tips, but of course I won't ask you to give unless it's something you really want to do.
The last piece I worked on 2025 and the first I finished in 2026! I'm finally doing the paintbrush challenge in my spare time! Everybody looks all starry!
