happy pride month, everyone!

i’ve been writing like crazy these past few weeks and i literally go to sleep thinking about the future dialogues. every single time someone catches me talking to myself as i play out different characters, the closer i get to being locked up in a padded white cell.

my insanity aside, i’ve finished the heart events for both C and M, so there’s just three more to go. i’d expected for the chapter to be shorter than how it’s turning out but i guess that’s what i get for getting too involved in the conversations between MC and their chosen RO. i’m listening to random radio stations as i write and idk why it helps me focus these days.

the word count (and other information) so far is:

i have no idea what the final result will be, but i hope to finish everything this month so the release will be this summer.

anyways, that’s all i have for y’all today. make sure to eat, stay hydrated and touch grass or i hope you get sleep paralysis tonight.

Progress update

This month has been all about Jordan's route and I'm not done yet. I'm at the end of the third path and will have only one left before being done with Jordan's route.

With L and T being present in this scene, I had to add little branching paths in each, well, path (numb!MC, angry!MC etc.) for the two ROs, but also for those who don't romance them, which makes this route bigger than the other two (Athiel/Robin).

I wrote different tiny paths and choices for something else too, but I'd rather keep this part for me and let y'all read for yourselves when it's out, hehe. Plus, there's also the small personality check with choices and flavor text. This is... a lot of work, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't exhausting at times... but am still excited about this chapter that brings so many answers depending on your route!

That makes two routes down for now—Athiel and Robin's. I'm fiercely hoping to have Jordan's route done by the end of the month but I doubt I'll make it. I'll probably finish it early next month, so not too far off!

That brings us to a total of roughly 60k words (Robin and Athiel's routes excluded)—I don't know the word count of the repetitive text throughout the different paths (angry, numb etc.) in Jordan's route so I'm taking away a good portion for good measure, haha

Overall we still have a long way to go—I've reserved a lot of things after those routes, though we're slowly and surely getting there!

I think that's about all I can say without spoiling anything<3

but then it's not five but x2 because I need different platonic/romantic scenes for each route

but then it's not five x2 but five x4 because the Oracle has two different states in this chapter and so they need different scenes for both states

Summer's heeere!! It's hot as balls! But I'm doing great, hope you all are too! This month was super fun!

We learned who the top WMU RO is (Dmitry cleared by 27. 4%, but I think it was inevitable 😅) You can check out the rankings here!

Alrighty, update time!

HIGHS: One of my favorite things in chapter 2 so far is the beginning of the platonic routes. Of course, a large part of this story is experiencing the romantic side of the ROs, but I want getting to know them platonically to feel just as fulfilling.

You'll become fast friends with some, while others take a little longer to cook. Either way, it'll be nice to have someone on your side when things inevitably get dramatic.

Another thing I finally figured out is how I'm going to track all your sins choices!

WMU is a big game with a lot of ROs, so obviously intimacy is going to play a huge role in that. Is it your first kiss? Your first time having sex? Who was it with? Was that person your partner?! Does anyone else know about it???

And not just physical intimacy either. Emotional cheating is a thing too...you know, in case you forgot...

If you think you're getting away with it...

...Or maybe you've got a bestie who knows when to keep their mouth shut.

LOWS: Maybe this isn't a super low, though it might be for all of you 👀

I often get asked when Santi, Linden, Lu, and Jong-woo are going to show up. I usually avoid answering because I want it to be a surprise 😅

Originally, I was going to have two of them show up in chapter 2, then the other two in chapter 3. But I also imagine people don't want to wait that long to meet their beloveds...so now I'm trying to decide if I should keep my original plan, but extend the next update up to the point where everyone is finally together in chapter 3.

Just so you can have a little taste lol

That would obviously mean the update would take way longer to publish, so I can't make up my mind!!!

At any rate, I'm going to keep plugging away at chapter 2!! Fingers crossed I can reach my deadline 🤞😬

How's TD going?, looking forward to the next video

it's going as fast as I can manage it! I've been trying to get work done in between gigs and client stuff as often as possible. the main reason you haven't seen more TD stuff is that I spent some time working on content that i ultimately decided to scrap, and I've been doing a bunch of pre-prod work prepping updated designs, locations, ETC for the episode I'm currently working on. If you haven't seen, I decided my original plan for episode 2 would work as a series start, so I'm retooling that into a proper "episode 1" with the pilot as optional additional viewing! I might try to make a quick video showing off the scrapped content this week or next, but I'll be a bit busy, so fingers crossed I manage to put it all together. here's to hoping!

Crown of Exile First Draft Complete 🎉

​I am happy and excited to announce that the first draft of Crown of Exile is now completed 🎉

It's been years in development, and while we're still a way off from its final launch, the full game is now completed and will shift into edits in the coming weeks. What this means is that by February 2026, expect an updated Steam demo release in anticipation of the game's full release in Q2 of 2026.

I cannot thank you all enough for the amount of support, kindness and patience you have shown me. Writing has always been my passion, and so stepping into the world of designing my own interactive fiction was definitely new for me. I learnt a lot throughout this process and have come to appreciate you even more during the tough moments when it felt like the code was fighting me on what I needed it to do.

While the game is completed, it doesn't mean there won't be any updates. As I work towards polishing it for the final release, I'll be asking for your feedback. If you would like to help shape the final game, consider providing feedback through this form​.
