do you have a shrine/altar? or do you keep your practice secret mostly?

hi, actually I more or less have one. I didn’t really based it in any conscious way on slavic tradition, it’s more a result of my personal symbolism and the restrictions of my current living arrangemetns (I’m not in the open with my faith and I don’t live alone). I believe you can find it in the ‘my practice’ tag on my blog somewhere if you’re interested, although most recently I’ve been using a small wax candle on a black candle plate and a glass of flavoured beer :)

this is probably a dumb question but did the ancient slavs literally believe their gods were real beings or just "forces of nature"?

On a general scale, it would be more correct to say ancient (how ancient? What stage of development of religion are we talking?) Slavs believed forces of nature to be entities, not their gods to be forces of nature. 

On a more personal one, there is no way to tell what each individual person actually believed.
