@queentoastie replied to your post: Fun fact: In Glass, Kyle’s name is actually...
I always wanna know this stuff my dude. how is it actually pronounced tho… don’t leave me hanging like this..
Pronounced p much like it’s spelled in Faterian: Kai-lay.
His full name, Kylenove’ia, is Kai-lay-no-vey-ee-a, which lit translates to “One of word”, because since the kiantri told Sheila right away “oh boy, he be a scholar” she just jumped on that shit with “YES THEN I AIN’T LETTIN’ THIS FATERI FORGET WHO HE BE”. And put the ‘Kai/Ky’ in front of it literally for decoration. He’s one of the few in the Fater’talei who’s boxed in not only by his nederi, but his name, too, since he was chosen so damn fast.
Fun fact, Kenny’s name would be said “Kay-ni”, spelled “Ke’ni” in their tongue, with the “ni” being hella staccato, which is why Kyle, when he first heard it, had to drag it out further than necessary to adapt to the speech Ken was using.
There, have some sneak-peek world-building I haven’t touched in the story yet pff. I actually need to go through and re-write some of Kyle’s lingual tendencies since I’ve developed the lingo a bit more. But... lazy.
