The sweat of a liar tastes sweeter than normal.” The man explained, staring down Jolyne with a serious look that really didn’t fit the utter nonsense he just spouted, as if that totally explained why he just threatened to lick her face. He got uncomfortably close to Jolyne, and continued to stare at her.

“I don’t want to have to get physical with you. I just need information. I have word that a... colleague of mine was spotted in this area. Trying to run from the sentence he’s earned for himself. I just need to know if you’ve seen anything out of place recently. A man running like his life depends on it? Any shady characters in general?”

“ AH, WHO’S THIS? Mademoiselle, do you know where I can find a girl named Jolyne? ”

A grin crinkles the corners of his eyes. “ Last time I saw her, she was about this tall -- ” He motions just below his chest - “ -- and she wore her hair in pigtails. ” Though the years have added lines to his face, though he leans on a cane to support prosthetic legs, the warmth of his smile is the same as it was many years ago.

With his free arm, Jean-Pierre pulls Jolyne into a hug. After a moment he releases her, hand still resting on her shoulder. Still he smiles, part pride, part ... sadness? “ Maybe I’m exaggerating the time apart. Still, it’s been a while, Jolyne. You’ve grown up. ”
