At the Midtown office of Fathom Studios, employees get to create their own titles. The only requirement is that the title conveys what a worker does and is in Victorian parlance. Forget producer or director or even public relations specialist. It took Jennifer Jones two months to come up with her title: lady of noble influence and narrative persuasion. That's director of public relations, for the unimaginative. Instead of being called producer, Marc Adler is sublime patron of dreams. Likewise, Jason Maurer is sovereign architect of creation, a.k.a. director. "It's definitely tongue in cheek," Jones said. "Where else can you be called the sublime patron of dreams and not suddenly have your arms wrapped around you and be led away by men in little white coats? ... it really does mean something to be able to come up with your own title and be able to define and describe what it is you do."
“Old Jobs get new, hip titles”, July 4, 2001
Fathom Studios would unleash Delgo onto the masses like seven years later and realize that maybe they should have focused on a good script instead of pretentious titles.
Delgo Drinking Game
Use soda instead, your liver will thank you. Don't drink and fly, kids. Drink when... 1. A character says something racist. 2. Filo's slingshot makes an appearance. 3. Magic rocks are magic. 4. Spig misuses a word. 5. Instead of saying 'dead' or 'died', a character just trails off. Drain your glass when... 1. "Bit of a tough guy, aren't you?" 2. "There's one in my pants!" 3. "Say hello to gravity." 4. A main character dies. 5. Delgo and Kyla kiss. BONUS ROUND (for hardcore Delgonauts only) Also drain your glass when... 1. Delgo or Kyla experiences a sudden, inappropriately timed mood swing. 2. Kyla is changing for her date but wears the same clothes she already had on anyway. 3. Sedessa's flying dog urinates on the Nohrin King for no reason. 4. "You're on your own, kid." AND Drink every time Filo speaks. Happy watching!
