Pray The Rosary
Do you think that most souls will be lost ? Most saints have described visions of the majority of souls that die at one specific time go to hell. I find that to be depressing and it makes me fall into despair and think then why should we evangelize. Which I know sounds stupid
I sincerely hope that most souls will be saved. I can’t be a Universalist precisely because of the visions you mentioned, but I can hope that these visions occurred at times of particular crisis within the Church. I mean, Teresa of Avila had her visions in the very first century of the Protestant Reformation, Lúcia of Fátima had hers amid the chaos of World War I, etc. But we can’t know for sure, either. I think C.S. Lewis made pretty convincing arguments for why souls would choose Hell over God in his The Great Divorce. Please don’t despair, but feeling upset about this possibility can be a good and holy thing. It can bring our souls to greater charity, and implore us to intercede on behalf of those who are at risk of damnation. Saint Monica cried over her son’s disbelief for years, and he went on to become one of the most important figures of Christian antiquity. So if you feel sad over someone, don’t feel guilty over it; offer your sorrow up to God, and ask Him to change their hearts.Meanwhile, there are many prayers you can say on behalf of those at risk of damnation. Here are three such prayers, all of which come from the Virgin Mary and the Angel of Peace, revealed just over a hundred years ago at Fátima:1. “Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.”2. “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You! I beg the forgiveness of those who do not believe, who do not adore, who do not hope, and who do not love You. Amen.”3. “Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I offer You the Most Precious Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles across the world, in reparation for all the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.”Don’t give in to despair. Pray for those who you are worried about. If you have anyone specific you’d like me to pray for, my asks are always open.
