7, 9, 14, 15, 20, 25, you do not have to do all of them. except for 14 and 15.
i’m absolutely doing all of them thank you for enabling my worst impulses
7. Which gaming system that they have used did you like the most?
i LOVE the quiet year, naturally. also i was pretty into the emotions wheel from the first half of TM. janine’s “i think signet’s never rolled mad or joyful” was great and adds such flavor to the feast of patina
9. Favourite track from the soundtrack?
the… twilight mirage opening. and the c/w opening. “did you just project your emotional response to each season onto the theme song”, well, yes, but,
14/15 (thanks) At what point did you realize you liked the show?
ep 10 of c/w, before which i actively disliked it and complained to anyone who would stand still long enough to listen–WHICH, i’m reaping the rewards of because now no one will bite when i try to get them into fatt–
Which character’s arc do you find most satisfying?
cass, and aria! they work so well in parallel, and i’m endlessly impressed by c/w’s narrative coherency. the signet and signet-and-belgard arcs are very very good too, i’m still absolutely ravenous for any kind of new divine fleet content.
um, and i feel like grandmag managed to navigate the entirety of TM while learning as little as possible, given the events, which. aww
20. Name one thing you like about each member of the cast.
ali: IN-CHARACTER PANIC SPIRALS. ali’s ability to escalate ANY situation with little-to-no GM assistance is just, unparalleled
andi: incredibly innately likable characters, across the board!!
art: one of my favorite roleplayers in the cast! also really appreciate the amount of behind-the-scenes thought that goes into each character
austin: i mean, many things, but god, absolutely the INSANE narrative improv
dre: really good at utilizing the actual game mechanics of the various systems
jack: the “which of these disasters would be most INTERESTING for my character” approach to play is……. something. “good”
janine: slkdjf all……….. of it. general thoughtfulness wrt to character, roleplay, and setting flavor? also the venn diagram of body horror stuff janine likes and body horror stuff i like is a circle
keith: routinely hits these moments that feel so genuine & really stick with me–eg mako in order, choosing not to hit audy; mako trying to save ted; gig compulsively breaking cover to defend his youtube channel…….
25. (BONUS) How do you feel about Bluff City
generally enjoyable! the one-shot nature of it makes episodes tighter, but also means the good moments have a little less payoff, for me. i remember almost nothing of the wrestling one, because it turns out my brain can’t…. hold audio descriptions of wrestling movies. just oozes right back out. so. i hope there wasn’t anything plot-crucial in those.
4. Favourite ship?i mean, THYRSUS in terms of visual aesthetic, sky reflected in mirrors in terms of overall conceit, but also shoutout to seance for making easily my favorite post-miracle planet.
.... sorry. sorry. tenfour is consistently great, and i'm VERY into signet/belgard, but tbh with friends@table ships i'm willing and eager to be sold on basically anything
5. Favourite underrated character?i was a big fan of lily lysander! or...... volition...? more axioms PLEASE. i was excited when they introduced ache and kind of disappointed we didn't get more--sure, i know you all feel bad about advent, but that was like three months ago. there's gotta be something more calcified, right?
10. Favourite episode?HUGE soft spot for animal out of context in part because i was entirely taken by the tower game mechanics. otherwise... splintered branch, ringing bell pt 3, twilight mirage 00... the order of things? miracle of the mirage pt 1?
12. Favourite holiday special?sldfkj having just the two seasons to draw from is really cramping my style here. b oth? kingdom game is more collaborative, and really true to the "draw a map, leave blank spaces" directive, also the PCs all kill it..... ON THE OTHER HAND miracle of the mirage has, an abundance of great moments (grand facing independence, "death" of empyrean, sho confronting the cadent) and ends with the planet-ship fusions which (despite the fact that that sequence is emblematic of how large chunks of the special felt a little choose-your-own-adventure in a narrative map of austin's design) is. ENTIRELY my jam.
18. Favourite moment from Marielda?oof hmm, it's been a while. austin smugly revealing his own set of competing twins was pretty good
i keep being like, “ok time to sit down and read through the other secret samol things” but then i end up just staring at my gift some more because it’s THE BEST FUCKING GIFT the google drive accompaniment has ADDITIONAL memes and closeups i can’t believe how good every single piece of this is
good news the fucking marielda finale has stressed me out so much i’m catching up on my entire taz backlog to put off finishing
i’m actually only like, 20mins away from the end but i keep like..... so you know when you’re watching a scary movie & you plug your ears & peek between your fingers to limit the.... total... sensory intake? i keep removing my headphones out of the same impulse, but. then. i can’t hear anything.
also does jack ever succeed on a roll ever again in his life, please, this finale is statistically improbable
anyway the taz nashville live show is fun? no one’s died yet. so that’s a plus
any time they talk about the forest in the quiet year game it’s like a neon sign in my brain starts flashing DARK! FOREST! DARK! FOREST! with like. neon animated hearts?? around it???
