He rolled over and stared at the ceiling in the dark. Hazel Grace. What a great name.
A goofy smile appeared on his face. Hazel Grace. What a beautiful person.
She was a college girl technically and she had spunk to knock your pants off. Hazel Grace. What a quick tongue.
She was something all right, and he loved somethings. Hazel Grace. What a mystery.
Even his parents seemed to like her. Hazel Grace. What a charmer.
Her smile was bright enough to light up a room and it was contagious. Hazel Grace. What a great laugh.
Her bra strap was showing for half of their date (yes, it was a date) and he hadn’t bothered to tell her. Why? Because it made her seem less like some kind of angel and more like an imperfect human. Hazel Grace. What a wonder.
He hope he hadn’t scared her off with his driving. She hadn’t complained too much. Hazel Grace. What a trooper.
She was everything he could have hoped for in a romantic partner; smart, funny, beautiful. He liked her a lot. He could only hope she felt the same way. Hopefully she’d text back. But he didn’t mind girls who played hard to get too much. It was more fun that way.
He rolled over onto his right side and tucked a hand under his pillow, closing his eyes.
"Hazel Grace," he said quietly to himself. "What a girl."
Sorry to ruin everyone's day... But Ansel has a girlfriend.
