ok you can be mad if you want but hear me out.
majority of them are just super immature though. like if you believe you reincarnated from a plant/animal that’s like??? ok cool. cause my principal believed she was reincarnated (possibly due to her faith) and i know people who are fond of the idea of reincarnations. i would probably be ok with otherkin since i have come across some in their 20s and 30s who have educated me.
but saying you were a fictional character or something that has been proved mythical—basically something that is not related to life is kind of dumb. and mildly offensive to religious/spiritual folks. and highly concerning, especially if you say you’re associated with a problematic creature/character.
i recall one otherkin stating that tumblr’s definition of otherkin is just basic trash. it’s just like westboro church is a bad representation of christians and a misandrist feminists is a bad representation of feminism??? or how racist bigoted assholes are a bad representation for white people.
and of course we’re natural pessimists. i hate associating with feminism cause people will think i’m a radical ass. and i hate associating with white people despite being half white cause they are racist pigs. and its sad cause MAJORITY of them are. and the MAJORITY of otherkin folks are immature.
its particularly impossible to get by without people slapping on stereotypes.
