congrats!! <3
Thank you! I’m very happy that I’m still here. :)
1) thank u for this blog. 2) one thing I'd have LOVED to see: Tuvok and Harry friendship/ mentor relationship. We had a tiny bit of that where Harry asks Tuvok about meditation, but I'd have really loved if the two had this really developed mentor/friendship. and Harry would take Neelix aside at one point and explain him a thing about personal boundaries and respecting Vulcan culture. Basically AU where both Tuvok and Harry get treated with respect and appreciation by the rest of the crew ;___;
tom paris was a bad influence on harry
and i’ve long since hc’d that tuvok is so hard on harry precisely because he sees all that potential and wants harry to live up to it fully
Homogenizing Racist Stereotypes
@faunmoss said: I read the question more as “both of these stereotypes impact the same emotion, therefore the *stereotypes* might be similar/ connected, right?” than giving any weight or credence to the stereotypes being true.
That was the question we were replying to, and the whole post was dedicated to saying the stereotypes were not connected.
It even says:
Of course stereotypes are going to cover the same emotions, because people only have so many emotions. They just express them in different ways, and different people will have different default sets of behaviour.
What racist stereotypes do is limit the set of default behaviours allowed down to a single note.
[...]
Most racist stereotypes are reinforcing different sets of behaviour, founded in totally different beliefs from centuries of white people creating certain images for certain ethnicities.
What that means is even though stereotypes impact the same emotions they are not connected because they come from different sources.
Ergo, assuming the stereotypes are connected despite being wildly unrelated is the same type of homogenization as mixing unrelated Native cultures or all of East Asia.
Just because stereotypes are all racist, does not mean they’re connected other than being racist.

I used to be super scared and grossed out by leeches but they've really grown on me! But, what's the right way to get them off? I keep hearing different advice, everything from "just pull them off" to "cut them off, use fire/ heat, use salt" and they all insist that the other methods are Totally Wrong Never Do That. ??
The truth is that forcing a leech off of you in any way carries a risk of the leech regurgitating back into your bloodstream from the stress, and if the leech does happen to be carrying some sort of active virus that can infect a human, that will guarantee contracting it.So the safest method is actually to just leave them alone until they’re done eating and drop off by themselves!

oh my god I also!!!! really love that catfish creature in the second panel like it looks like one of those super kitschy dolphins-plastered-to-a-wave things and !!!! it's so pretty!!!!!!!
Thanks! It’s an otter--mostly. It’s an otter with the face of a water tiger (so, in JS universe, an otter). *v*
She's so rad, she's a whole bicycle
I'm sorry if this is a stupid or upsetting question, but do you know if previous right wing presidencies (reagan, bush, idk) had similar policies and/or reactions? were ppl legitimately worried abt rising fascism after they were elected? has something like this happened before in the us? or is this really as bad as it looks. [I'm german and it looks fucking terrifying. I never thought I'd see something like this in my lifetime]
Trump seems pretty unprecedented in the US. I think there might’ve been some worries that were similar with Reagan but not to this level. I’m not a history buff though so I wouldn’t be able to give you fine detail
