Btw speaking of the Faustverse I have put together a Faustian board with dates and arrows showing levels of inspiration.

Grey — some baseline stuff, which has multiple authors and/or its hard to determine the exact origin (The Bible, The German/Polish legend)

Red — the most prominent literature specifically about Faust/ directly influenced by the legend (Goethe, Marlowe, Mann, Bulgakov etc.)

Blue — things that explore demonic themes, but are less monumental as the red books, can include films and comics

Green — science/academic research about specific books (I included Chaos theory because I like to view Meph as a primordial chaos spirit and this book really broadened my understanding)

@karaviav maybe it would be helpful for your research

Sorry it’s only in Russian, I am in the process of translating it to English

If you have any questions about why I included specific things in there (for example Mindlin’s “The Return of Doctor Faust” is a relatively niche book that is extremely gay and implements time loops??? in 1924???)

I’ve never posted this board because it was constantly expanding and I didn’t know when to stop.

Also I think it is a good place to brag about my collection of Faustian literature hehe (including comics and booklets from shows I’ve been to)

I finally managed to translate my Faustverse flowchart to English! And it has gotten even bigger!!!

I should’ve probably done so before posting it the first time because the audience I was posting it for doesn’t speak Russian (I am also not entirely sure if all of the books mentioned have an English translation….. fuck those people who decided to build the Tower of Babel it wasn’t worth it)

Anyway if you have any suggestions for the flowchart I would greatly appreciate them

In the czech musical Doktor Faust, Mephisto is played by both a woman and a man. (And yes, Johann pulls both of them in this play) The songs where they sing simultaneously really slap! Idk it's such a fun thing to have in your play.

The musical wasn't very well received amongst the critics, so it may not even be be that good to an unbiased person but since this was actually what got me into Faustverse in the first place it really has a special place in my heart. Tho i do admit the story is extremely butchered and sometimes even nonsensical/rushed.

Then again, this was the author's first play they made and a lot of the actors are fresh out of school. Not to mention the theater is in the middle of nowhere in Prague. No joke the building looks like a kebab store from the outside! So you can't really be that harsh.

You can listen to it on Spotify. Just be warned that the story was heavily simplified and shortened. AND IT'S ALSO IN CZECH!!! Personally my favorite song is "Jen stačí říct" (translated: All you have to do is say so") ESPECIALLY the part after 2:28!

The last picture is actually of me when I went to see it year ago! I even emailed them if they would by any chance sell me the huge poster thing behind me, they did not respond 😔

It may seem that I’ve neglected faustverse lately for a new shiny old man yaoi, but they still live rent-free in my head.

It’s just that they surpassed their fandom somehow and now feel more like abstract Faustian amalgamations than characters from a specific stories.

I'm very happy how he turned out cuz i was only using scraps of fabric i had lying around from my previous sewing projects.

I didn't actually make a pattern (kinda) for the base, i instead sewed the new fabric on top of the already existing plushie i had.

This was my first attempt at mapping out all the parts i wanted to incorporate.

More experimenting with the fabrics/accessories

This took me about two weeks to make. I'm very proud of it like I said! Now that I'm done I've been thinking about either

a) making a matching plushie for Faust (but since i don't have a design for him i would need to make one first)

b) making a Faust cosplay
