i'm laying here listening to Butterfly for maybe the 30th time today and i'm finally all alone and I just start sobbing to me the concept of 화양연화 is way more than just a plot to grab different motifs, symbols, and theories from. i guess to me it really is the most beautiful time in life, or a golden age. bts mean so much to me - not only as human beings and role models but as a symbol for my own personal growth and "golden age" in a way ? looking back from what kind of place i was in when i first really got into bts, i was a mess. before i even decided i would try them out, i would get sick to my stomach because of mental associations i made when i thought of them. im so glad i was able to disassociate those thoughts from bts; they really didn't relate and i didnt need to keep ruining my state of mind by connecting the two. in shorter words, bts have changed my life for the better. its kinda cheesy but really i cant imagine my life if i hadnt taken the plunge and gotten into bts. i wouldnt have half the friends i have now... and I probably wouldnt be as happy as i am. two years ago when i got into them i was in such a bad place that i didnt even want to think about college because i didnt think i would be around to even apply - today i am happier than ever and ive applied to all my schools... im even kinda excited to be leaving next year. i guess my (muddled) point is that i really fucking love bts. i love them to pieces and i really dont think i would be here if it werent for them.
