Thanks for answering my ask before. If you don't mind me asking (again), can I ask, what are your top 10 favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this questions before......
Hey!
I haven't answered this one before but it's very hard to answer. There's such a wealth of media to choose from, for starters. Also, I love books for a different reason than I love TV series or films etc. Or I might consider something amazing (let's say, Breaking Bad, which is, for me, one of the best TV series) but it's not one that I've thought about obsessively afterwards or rewatched, so Idk if I'd call it my fave.
So to answer this question I thought about which media I obsessed over (or participated actively in fandom, like joining forums, or creating fics etc). Not all of these media are my favourite necessarily, not anymore anyway, and some of them aren't even the Best in their field, but they're the ones that touched my fangirl nerve throughout the years.
X-files
Fringe
ASOIAF
The Raven Cycle
Harry Potter
Nirvana in Fire
Lymond Chronicles
The Untamed /MDZS
Chronologically this is where we are. I haven't been obsessed with a new media since the Untamed (and tgcf and mxtx's works in general). However this past week or two I can feel myself falling into an obsession with Bucky Barnes (12 years later than everyone else), which is rather unfortunate bc I don't actually like Captain America 😕
There are endless types of fans but most fit into these two categories. One is the type of fan that knows their media has flaws but takes criticism of that media personally and HAS to defend it. The other type of fan is the one that loves their media and criticizes it endlessly. Neither type is better than the other but watching them interact is extremely entertaining.
Fan type one: *tearfully* don’t say that about [character or media tittle] she will never recover
Fan type two: [media title] has so many plot holes and weak moments, like if it was done this way I’d probably hate it. [character] is so [character flaw the creator probably didn’t intend to give them] and [plot event] doesn’t make sense for their arch.
