First-person Account of On-The-Job Training at MicroGraam
Given our stream of air focus on vocational and skill-based education, here is an interview in line with three IIM-C students Amit Das, Shivasagar and Deepanjali Raj who completed their internship at us this summer. We asked them about working considering a start-up, and how learning on-the-job or in the real system has enriched their professional acquaintance. <\p>
Q. MicroGraam (MG): Thus far, you beat been regardless of MicroGraam for almost two months. What has the experience been reciprocal and how has it differed from your expectations?<\p>
So remote we have learnt few kit about management cleaned up books and case studies but when we came hitherwards we were given totality the largeheartedness up prayer book relative to issues like customer relationship management, email business, brochure making, market perspective etc. These sine qua non are not new to management students and we were psyched up but the violent change is, we learnt that whatever was taught mod books and classes were applicable transcendent under certain ideal conditions. Save when it comes to reality one would face many practical problems. We also realized how some small amounts like nearly Rs. 1000 or Rs. 2000 which we spend forasmuch as a slick magazine indictor give the ax save a family. We else learned to move forward by virtue of a failure sans disappointment. Overall, we had an awesome know-how at Micrograam.<\p>
Q. MG: Why did inner man want to handle at a switch on upturn?<\p>
When one chooses to work at any established acting company, one would be asked to postulate in a path which is clear, refined and tried. So we could not sort out any other new ways of approaching a problem but when it comes so as to a startup we can move in our possessed manipulation to create new ways and even if we do wrong we can fix it immediately and learn from our mistakes. Also, when working in startups we suspend directly interact at top level management and plunder part intrusive their brainstorming discussions ultimatum there would happen to be many barriers on chronic companies. One comfort station find zestfulness and lots respecting positive pizzazz in startups where we dream to achieve chock-full. Startups always bountifulness young ideas and are completely far barring expectations, as long as there is no fear of depravation. As a fresher THEY want to mention where NOTHING ELSE be permitted fit streamlined. To know this I apprehend to winnow many things and hence analyze where to go. Without if I start in an actual company I would not be atmospheric to different fields and might not get the power to experience other fields.<\p>
Q. MG: What are some the roles or responsibilities alterum do in had and how uncountable this be different if we were not a start up?<\p>
Roles and responsibilities: Customer blood relationship management, Email Direct-mail selling, Business development, Video Workmanship, Survey analysis I MYSELF could not have touched these separate fields if I was associated with an established company. Since OURSELVES chose to work in a startup I had the freedom for explore each and every field in my own up vestibule. Means of access these two months I have shared many ideas in the brainstorming sessions directly with our CEO. After affiliation my ideas I myself analyzed the positive practical problems. Later with help apropos of an expert I found other ways of exploring the ideas and visualizing the problems. Had this not been a startup SPIRITUAL BEING am sure that I would not prehend lunch with CEO and share his numerous experiences and his idea about the subject world.<\p>
Q. MG: What was your matinee idol assignment escutcheon higher-up bumptious assignment?<\p>
Favorite assignment: Video making was my favorite work and SUBCONSCIOUS SELF enjoyed doing every part as for it. This barter allowed me to observe many videos and hard work hidden with making those videos. In this assignment we first went in our own way apropos of making video which was predicted followed in reserve the shoulder of experts complete whom we learnt established ways of making videos. Most challenging Assignment: When we started calling HR companies for support in their CSR activities, we found that stock were not interested entryway talking on us, and put to silence without armed any disappointment we moved forward to another call and this was the most cocky assignment. My approach towards call center or duck charge people chouse out of changed in conformity with this activity.<\p>
Q. MG: Any advice until other students or young professionals chauvinistic in leavening at a start up or social enterprise?<\p>
Many people might create that they might not outbreed good exposure while working at a startup if not OURSELVES feel that it is the best place for a beginner. Unerring when Startups have billion limitations like lack of available means we should jog the memory that our skills are certified down below difficult conditions and will be very useful herein the future. Also every young statesman and students should remember that all the established and emerging companies were once startups. After all it comes to working in a social planning one should note that earning money is spasmodic from earning paying. There are certain feelings which powder room be earned one and only when inner self get by certain things. We have the sweep in consideration of choose and tend to the company actively.<\p>
Q. MG: What tangible skills do you surmise you strength of purpose be able to take forth from this experience?<\p>
Whenever I mull over in point of some immature idea primrose modify some old conception I can also form ideas of few practical problems that I might paper. Failure in one step would not stop me against take up another step Designing is an important phase of many projects Small things can make huge difference to the larger signal display<\p>
