Hermit-A-Day May - Day 18: Favorite Build
Today is a Bonus Day, and it's Favorite Build!
Again, we've got another non-RMAU piece - but we traded that for a background today! So, I went with the Boatem Pole, because the first season I really watched was Season 8 from Grian and Mumbo's perspectives! The whole Boatem thing was so funny, and I thought the Boatem Pole would be both fun and easy to draw - and nostalgic too, XD.
I really like how it all turned out, but especially the background. It's just a bunch of really rough lines and strokes and stuff, and then put through a bit of a blur to make it look out of focus and a little smoother. But I think it turned out great!!! Also - theoretically this is ACTUALLY the background for the Boatem Pole, like, in game, because I was actually referencing a photo when doing it! But yeah, I really like how it turned out!!! I think this might be my favorite Bonus Day piece, at least so far...
(also I just got distracted heading to bed and almost completely forgot to post this tonight, lol...)
I downloaded this mod called Scrimshaw Expanded (used with Hunterborn) and I basically only use weapons and armor that I create through that mod. It doesn’t level smithing nor affect smithing because the evolution of what you can create relies on your ability to skin pelts, harvest ingredients, and grind bones into alchemy ingredients.
Above is armor and weapons made through scrimshaw; even the amulet of Hircine’s Hunter Moon, made from scraps of bone and deer pelts.
The Bosmeri antlers are under the same name of the mod “Bosmeri Antlers” because that’s one thing (along with granting Bosmer the ability to use Frost) that ESO got right.
More details beneath the Keep Reading line if interested:
TL;DR: Bosmer uses primitive tools, weapons, and armor by using scrimshaw mod which makes the hunting process more immersive; Bosmer druid uses frost spells, alteration, and restoration as utility. Live in the wild and be free.

Technically an entry for hermitadaymay ✨
Sadly no art though as I do not have the energy, but I can definitely rant!

So today is “favorite build” and I have two. (I would say three but I’ve just barely started watching season 9 trying to catch up.)
The two I first think of would be:
Grian’s Midnight(?) Alley in S8 and Scars Magical Forest(???) in S7.
I love both of them so much, for two very different reasons, but they are so beautiful and just A H. For Grian’s I already love the architecture in Britain, it’s what spurred on my love for architecture- and the mix of the Harry Potter (written by Daniel Radcliffe ofc) magic is just brilliant.
For Scars I’m an absolute sucker for anything nature/cottagecore related and his “starter build” was definitely that. The giant trees, all the houses, the BRIDGES. I CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW MUCH I LOVE THOSE BRIDGES.
Ahem.
There was another one, I believe it’s in season 9? From what I gather I may be Grian’s build. But it’s kind of this lovely white giant birdcage looking thing covered in foliage? From what I’ve seen around it’s absolutely gorgeous and can’t wait to actually see it in a video.
But yeah those are my favorite builds as of now! I guarantee I’ll have plenty of new ones after season 9 and once I get into season 10.
But yeah! Sorry for no art but I hope my rant amused you XD
