technically this is a life series au but oh well grian’s here, we can pretend

In this AU, the Watchers are a TV studio focused mainly on Reality TV. After the massive failure that was “EVO”, their last TV show that dropped off after a while, and made the Watchers gain a lot of criticism, the company seemingly disappeared after the cancellation of the show. This is why it’s pretty confusing when they suddenly come back after an almost 10 year break with a brand new TV show.

This new show is called “The Life Series”, a show where 14 individuals are taken from their normal lives and are made to fight each other until they are the last one left. It is supposed to be a mock reality show in ways, as it is made very clear that they are not literally made to fight each other.

The show also has something to set it apart from others (other than the literal murder). Every member must be anonymous. They all wear masks, and if requested, their voices are changed. They also all go by an alias (grian’s is the sun, Scott’s is the stars etc.)

The show quickly becomes extremely popular, and the contestants struggle to balance the burdens of what they’ve done with their everyday life and keeping their identity secret.

Some resign to their fate (and their contracts), whereas others just get worse and worse.
