okay so. my favourite 5sos song of all time ever, and will stay so forever, probably:
ghost of you. it tastes like cold water in the middle of the night. it's refreshing and it's got a secret hidden flavour that can only be unlocked sometimes but literally never gets old.
my comfort 5sos song:
best years tastes like fresh hot tea in the morning. this song is about new beginnings to me, so! my mom puts little cinnamon sticks in it. that's the vibe
my favourite off sgfg:
os/co. I know it's teechnicaallly one song but I do what I want so you're getting two flavours. outer space tastes like those really cheap instant ramen cups (beef and veggies to be specific) and carry on tastes like a marshmallow that was literally just on fire. this makes no sense until you consider the fact that I had this song LOOPED when I went camping last summer, and those were pretty much the only two things I ate, and now I can't listen to this song without remembering that. I love when songs transport you back to another time. sigh. discussion for another time
(probably) my favourite off self-titled:
amnesia! amnesia tastes like iced tea in may. I always insist I don't want any, and then my sibling leaves the jug in the fridge and I steal it. none of us are allowed to know her secret recipe. I've tried to replicate it. I can't.
honourable mentions:
comedown. comedown tastes like a warm croissant. in my mind, comedown and best years are closely related, so it makes sense that you could pair the two flavours. it's still a little steamy, so you gotta be careful when you pick it up, but somehow it's both crunchy when you bite into it and it melts into your mouth.
she looks so perfect tastes like when you accidentally open your mouth on a rollercoaster or while you're sticking your head out the car window. it's literally pure adrenaline, just empty air and wind, and something you can't even process. granted, this is the song I listen to while I'm driving to auditions and we sang it at karoake the only time I was ever around drunk people. so that may have something to do with it.

hello team!! wow!!! happy new year!! our first new year together!! this is so exciting!!! can you believe we have been friends for like. what. two months? or something?? i have zero concept of time but it has not been nearly as long as it feels like. you know what i mean? i am so glad that you entered my life when you did. i feel such a sense of kinship with you and i feel like we understand each other in a way that i don't really find with a lot of people, especially about things like art and music. like...i feel like we like music the same way. which is really really special to me. i don't think that about a lot of people. in fact i think we are very similar on quite a few levels, and i love that. it is such an honor and a pleasure and a delight to get to know you and watch you grow (i can't help but feel like a bit of an older sister to you but like in a friend way you know what i mean? you know??) and to talk to you about the things we love and the way we love them. i hope that this is the first of many new years that we have together. i hope your new year is full of things that make you happy, new music that you love and that maybe we can enjoy together, new art that unlocks emotions in you previously undiscovered, etc. i hope you make peace with your studies or find a new major that fits you better and that you get to do something with your academics that makes you happy or at least that you find really interesting!! i love you so much and i am so excited to be a part of your 2022 as your psych major/obsessive fic writer/music addict/academic advisor friend. love you!! xoxo, bella.

I also can't believe it's only been two months, not only because I was thinking about you and your fic all summer but also because you fit into my life so well that it's hard to picture a time when you weren't here. As usual, you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm honoured to be one of the people who love music the same way you do. I'll never be able to forget when this happened the first night we talked:
I'm still waiting for that Austin and Ally karoake reception. I'm so lucky to know you, to be your friend, to witness everything you are. Ever since coming to this side of 5sos tumblr, I've been collecting older siblings by the minute, and I couldn't be happier about it. I've never been the younger sister before and I am quite enjoying it. Thank you for welcoming me into this space and for letting me take that position in your life.
