I’ve got to say Jack Whitehall’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’with his dad has got to be one of the best ever episodes of the show. It’s up there with the Danny Dyer one, I couldn’t stop laughing. His reactions to realising his relatives were on the wrong side of history were hilarious and is exactly how I would react on the show.
Starting my Bones rewatch again cause it got delayed by life. I never get tired of this programme.
I saw an article the other day that was like ‘all fans agree that the rookies true crime episodes are the worst episodes’ and I was taken aback because personally I found them fucking hilarious. Malcolm in the middle is a child tv star turned cult leader who then gets murdered while he’s live streaming, how do you not enjoy that episode?!?!😂
I really wanna see some aftermath interviews about the rookie because that final really felt like a midsession final. It seemed like things had swapped round or maybe they just got the call late that they were being renewed. And honestly If that’s the case I respect them for not wanting to leave things on a awful cliffhanger which may never have been solved. That’s happened twice with programmes I watched, one where a plane crash happened and secondly where a main character was stabbed and was flatlining in surgery. Those were never resolved and it’s annoying, so if the rookie’s solution was a safe final then I’m ok with that. As long as the quality is back up for S5.
I’m rewatching Emma(2009) and we’re only five minutes in and the summary is basically like ‘no one has a mum they’re all dead’
I decided to finally watch Vera from the beginning, I started watching around series 6 and it really bugs me when I haven’t seen something from the beginning. I like to see how a creation has developed over time, so it was really interesting to see the first episode. I can definitely tell it’s a first episode because it has that really unpolished feel to it, like there is some really weird camera work and plot choices. I noticed the running time was a lot shorter and you could really tell because I didn’t feel like everything was tied up, certain things were added in and never explored. The murderer killed a handful of people for different reasons but the final one was never really explained. Nevertheless, I thought it was a really great start and you can see the little gems which will make the show the success it becomes.

‘World’s Strictest Parents’ really was peak entertainment though the likes of which we will never see again. It was part of the golden age of shows on BBC Three along with ‘Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents’ and ‘Don’t tell the Bride’. I love my trash shows.
