Loans from the Frua-Valsecchi Collection
Step inside the home of a collector with a selection of objects on loan to the Ashmolean from the Frua-Valsecchi Collection.
The abundant display of small paintings in Gallery 50 is intended to evoke the immersive feeling of a private collector’s home. The sketches depict scenes such as romantic views of ancient Roman ruins on the Italian coastline, glowing from the light of a sun low in the sky.
Francesca and Massimo Valsecchi were among the early admirers of 18th and 19th century landscape oil sketches. Typically undertaken for training or as personal studies, such works originally tended to remain in the possession of the artists and their families.
Displayed in Gallery 5 are a group of nine Favrile glass vases designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany between 1896-1920. Favrile was Tiffany & Co's art-glass range, introduced in 1896. The shapes colours and finishes of Tiffany's vases were inspired by the natural world and ancient glass.

Who’s the dead guy Dareths with. He looks dangerous and I’m afraid of what he’s going to lead the poor brown ninja into.
(( His name is Favrile, AKA the Conductor, and he's blood related to Dareth. Don't worry, he is trying very hard *not* to get Dareth killed while trying to find a way to get him back to Ninjago.))
Favrile and Archie meeting how would that go?
((OP this is very much so self indulgent since its 100% ninjago OCs interacting, haha.
"Oh heck no!" Archie ran to grab the faucet sprayer. "Step any closer to me and I wont hesitate to shoot! What does a ghost want with me anyway?!"
Favrile if he had lived in another timeline should’ve been dareth’s cranky part Oni grandpa
((Technically something like that *does* exist between my friends in an AU... though he's not the cranky type.
Here are some misc doods that somewhat relate to it))
