I think you can either turn the text layer into a smart object and then place it on that (if you also want like a pattern to it) or you can do it through the window that you use to apply stroke and outer shadow (I’ve forgotten what the name for it was but there’s an option to apply a gradient to the text through that)

I actually mean just here on tumblr. Like, so I can have a pretty colored gradient text under gifsets. I keep seeing it everywhere under sets and just regular text posts, but I have no clue how anyone is doing it. But, I didn’t know how in ps either, to be honest. So this is still helpful lol.
