The winner of my 2019 french black copper marans hatch. Not perfect (has some white on his feet, but he came from a show line for egg color, not conformation). I will be ordering more eggs from a couple places this summer to try to hatch out some ladies for him.
That last rooster picture is the most Alan-A-Dale, prototypical rooster I've ever seen. I want to pet him (with permission, obvs).
Yeah marans are awesome chickens AND bonus, they’re super sweethearts too. He would totally let you pet him.
My French black copper marans quad today
Tanner, my French Black Copper Marans rooster. He’s almost done feathering in for the year, and looking great! I’ll have to get a picture of me holding him, so y’all can see how huge he is!
He and his ladies produced some really nice kids last year for me. This year he’ll be spending the spring studding at a teacher’s farm for part of a community-run summer class on sustainability and small farms!
