I loooved chapter 4! I took an undeserved hw break to read it as soon as I got the email alert but no regrets, it was worth the 6 months wait. It was so funny but so emotional, you write comedy and the emotional parts so well. Like James talking about his dad was so sad 😭 Will Fleamont make an appearance in the story?

Ahhhh thank you so much! I'm officially declaring that your break was well deserved. This story is mostly just fun but I'm glad that the emotional bits read well too!

Fleamont will definitely make some appearances. This is a James centered story and his relatoonship with his father is a big part of it. I think of it as 3 major storylines: James' career, his relationship with Lily, and his relationship with his father. All of those will see some sort of conclusion in the story - I actually outlined it by writing a timeline of each of those 3 things.

FCC is very well written, i got anxiety reading about sirius like lily’s 2 year old picture!!! i would die of embarrassment if a friend did that to me lol. your characterizations make it very enjoyable to read! also super intense game night and peter’s reaction to losing!!!

Thank you!! That was one of my favourite bits 😂Sirius lives to embarass James, but luckily, James doesn't really have much shame. It's why their friendship works!

Game night was SO much fun to write, I had to stop myself from making it go on forever. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it!

is james becoming super famous going to make lily hesitant about dating james? are they both at stages in their lives where relationships aren’t really feasible? also, i liked seeing the transition in chapter 4 of them becoming friends to close friends. seeing close friendships before anything romantic happens is a favorite of mine

I mean without giving you any level of detail (you'll have to suffer through that when it happens), I'd say yeah, it's very likely that fame and James' career might become a bit of an obstacle for them.

And yes, we have kind of seen that they're both in a place where a relationship doesn't seem like the best idea to them. Lily's very focused on her education, it's a subject she already finds difficult and she's doing it while working part time and with the pressure of feeling like she has to solve this problem that cost her a mother. She wants to start doing research right away, wants to fast track everything as much as she can - it doesn't leave her with a lot of time or energy for boys. James is at a potential turning point in his career, he's on the cusp of everything he's ever wanted and with that comes the fear that if he doesn't do everything right, he'll fuck up and lose it. Which leaves him with minimal time and energy to spend on girls. It's a real pity they met their perfect match at such inoppurtune times 😉

game night with them seems really fun! i wish i had something regular like that with my friends. is game night something you also do irl that inspired you to put it in the story?

It does seem fun! I don't do anything quite as intense with my friends (though I'm sure few people do, James and Sirius are ridiculous). But I did pull from various game night experiences I've had! The improv game and vampires, I played at a game night at my best friend's place a little while ago. Exploding Kittens I discovered when I played it with some of the other interns during my internship last year. Regular real life things being amped up 10x is what I feel like James and Sirius are at their core, and thus, game night was born.

I like where your mind is at 😂 You know what? Sometimes, the narrative just calls for James to be shirtless, and who am I to deny the narrative what it needs?
