D – Deluca scrubbed like he could erase it, sleeves pushed up, the sharp tang of vinegar burning his nose, the brush rasping against the same patch of tile. R – Retiring, coming home, not to an empty apartment, but here—to the quiet land and the big sky, to Tommy. E – Evan makes it… then his new mission, his only mission, would be to die first; he would never, ever be the one left behind again. A – And maybe, in the wildest corner of that dream, bringing Evan home too, his brilliant, reckless boy. M – Make it right, make a place for him, scrub the blood until only dirt remained on his hands, not guilt.

B – Buck shuffled between couch and guest room, stubborn limp slowing him down more than he’d admit. E – Even the kitten seemed to know where he belonged, scrambling up his shirt to perch on his shoulder and cling there, all bones and wild eyes. L – "Looks solid,” Tommy said, running his hand along the line of the boards. O – “Oh, so you caught Gremlin,” Tommy said, smirk tugging at his mouth. V – Voices stayed low, coaxing, as Buck crouched in the grass with one steady hand near the bowl. E – Every move Buck made, Sal tracked from the porch with arms crossed tight, unimpressed and unwilling to say what twisted in his chest. D – “Don’t you dare,” Sal warned, but Buck only grinned wider, voice soft with wonder: “Told you I could.”
