⚛ sink or swim | woori & hongbin
The pool was one of Woori's favorite places. She could leave everything behind and lose herself to the world in the water. She had picked up swimming shortly after moving to the Institute, and it quickly developed into a kind of therapy for her. If she had nightmares to bad to sleep, she swam, if she found herself thinking dark thoughts, she swam, if she was angry at her mother or her father or her teachers or herself, she swam. It was the best way she knew how to deal with things.
She found herself making her way towards the edge of the pool. Someone else was there, but she never paid any mind to others that were around. Once she was in the zone, all that there was in her mind was herself and the water. Graceful dives were nice, but they were never her thing when she was feeling frustrated. She preferred to just jump in and sink, see how far she could go before she had to come back up for air. Today was no different. She took a deep breath and leapt off the edge, drawing her knees to her chest and crashing through the surface of the crystalline pool, sending waves of water up over the edge, splashing everything within reach. She sank, faster than usual. Perhaps she had jumped in with a bit too much gusto. The back of her heels touched the bottom and she pushed off, her face resurfacing and brushing her damp hair out of her eyes.
Paying no mind to the boy nearby, she hoisted herself out of the pool, sending water droplets flying as she got to her feet and walked by him to jump in again. Jumping, climbing, jumping, climbing; they were robotic actions now but they calmed her and that was all that mattered.
