lmAO did y’all think Lenny met her Prince Eric when she ran away to Paris a year ago?? SIKE!! She’s already got her Prince and it’s Mal. She met Ursula, a charming woman who knew how to pull people around like they were puppets on strings.

okay but lenny the Pan Icon™ saw Ursula and was HIGHKEY like “WOW!!!” but anyways back to the Serious Stuff

It’s no coincidence that her surname, Mercier, means “trader”. And it’s no coincidence that Ursula found Lenny so quickly when she ran away to explore Paris. It’s also no coincidence that her apartment overlooked the same route Malachi and Elias would take on their way to Elias’s school. 

Is she a human? Is she a Cryptid who chose to bring others of her kind to the Menagerie in exchange for her own freedom? mmmmohmygod I don’t know!! 

Point is, she had been working with Metzger for some time, scouting for Cryptids in France to send to the Menagerie. 

She was in Paris scoping out Elias Leclair, which is why her apartment had a balcony that overlooked his and Malachi’s route to school. 

When Lenny ran off to Paris, Ursula, being one of Metz’s connections in the area, found her pretty quickly. 

and she was probably like?? Awww Baby and basically kinda toyed with Lenny’s heart and got Lenny to tell her she was a Selkie and like, just kinda had her fun with her alfhdkdbkd 

stole Lenny’s Selkie’s coat and sent it back to the Menagerie, that way Lenny wouldn’t be able to run off that easily if she found out what game Ursula was playing 

Her plan was basically to nab Elias and send him back to the Menagerie with Lenny?? Two birds with one stone tbh 

BUT LMAO Elias!! Ended up Knowing something was Up and went on a killing spree, Ursula being the first to go. uhhh rip??? That was the night Malachi wound up at the Menagerie. 

uhhh and as for Lenny?? She came back to an empty apartment and was pretty much stranded in Paris for a couple of days without her Selkie’s coat, which led to her having to find her own way back to the Menagerie, aaaand the rest can be read in Lenore’s app!! 

Essentially Ursula was the first person Lenore had some sort of semblance of a relationship with, she lost her virginity to Ursula aldhdkbdjd

uhhh and to this day Lenny has no idea that she worked for Metzger this whole time and just thinks she was a human who ran away when she found out Lenny was a Cryptid?? And honestly I can’t tell which is worse ahahahdjdhjd 

Ursula was the kind of person who could charm the spots off of a fucking leopard. Talented, highly educated, classy as fUCK 

Was she evil? I’d argue no, but she was a person who was out only for her own self-interest.

While the first drawing she drew of Soren when she was a child was kept hidden after Metzger gave it back to her after taking it, in the future, after she thinks she grows close to the last time she'll be close to Soren as they used to be, she keeps the drawing on her wall, tacted with the rest of the drawings with friends. She'll keep it there even as it's so faded and yellow and ripped too at the edges, until she forgets for a few seconds that it started out as a vision as a child. Worse maybe as I'm writing this while I'm thinking, imagine she makes a copy of it, a redrawing she doesn't keep to herself but gives to him, not for him to try and change because at that point it's nothing to give on her end no matter how much she's tried through the years, but just so he remembers maybe. She'll have debates for herself for years later if he lost it, or even tore it up, or forgot her, or kept it.
