You didn’t specify for which story, so I’m choosing my A Discovery of Witches fic “Kiss from a Rose” ^_^ Because I never really talk about it, and I sorta want to!!

In a world where witches, vampires and daemons exist . . . Simone is human. Very human. By every right she should have no power and yet she does; prescience.

It’s what caused her to foresee meeting her vampire “prince” when she was only just a child. She grew up to write a series of books inspired by those childhood imaginings (visions) . . .

. . . and in the middle of “Kiss from a Rose”, Simone is abducted by the vampires who do their best to make the witches look responsible - believing that Simone might be fresh evolution - another species surfacing.

The reality is simpler.

She has a witch far back in her ancestry; and magic blossomed faintly in an otherwise human woman.
