He didn’t realize the slip up and how he must’ve saw Jess as a mother figure all up until now when he was panicking about her safety. He paused when she mentioned what he said making him stare at her for a moment in confusion. He said mom. He blinked before he fell dead silent inhaling a heavy breath. “..I didn’t mean to..” he lowered his head before taking a step back. “I’m sorry, Jess. I meant JESS.”
