"Salvation meets grief"
RIP, Orson. You and Eirika would have the most angsty intergenerational friendship that ever written if you last.
I had this headcanon since I played this game, it kinda hinted to. Like he called her Eirika twice without a title (for the sake of my delusions I'll ignore the context of the first time).
When he told Eirika to either give him her bracelet or to Seth, I kinda raised my eyebrows. This man was so confident enough to put himself on par with Seth as if he knows that there's a high chance she'll give it to him.
And even when Eirika met him again, she was the only one that asked for a reasoning from him, and he expected an understanding from her, he sacrificed Renais for the mere idea to be reunited with his love.
And chapters later, she sacrificed the whole world at the mere hope of Lyon's returning to his senses.
Both were desperate to return to the past, where everything was fine and their loved ones were with them.
And even at the end of the game in her route, she considers using the stone to bring back who has died in this war if not for her brother to ground her back.
They're mirrors, but the difference is that Eirika had people to rely on, she didn't succumb too long to her grief, she got up and moved on despite the pain.
That's why both of them are my favorite. Orson succumbed to his grief, Eirika didn't. They're mirrors, at least for me (or because they're both my favorite that's why I'm trying to find relations and similarities between them.)
