Something about Elincia being stubborn and firm in her ideals, which while it might not seem sensical, reflects in her mercy and compassion in the battlefield, to the point she has a skill to keep her from killing her enemies unless you remove it. Something about Pelleas holding his beliefs too but without enough conviction to back them up, to the point he ends up easy to trick and manipulate, but in battle he has no qualms with killing, one of the few dark magic users around, one who sold his soul in exchange of power.

The two symbols of their respective kingdoms. Elincia, idealist and compassionate like Crimea, but determined enough to see her vision through. Pelleas, outwardly powerful and uncompromising like Daein, but incapable to make anything happen by himself and letting himself be pulled along.
