Fic title; Coffee and Floral Prints 💕
Every morning, without fail, there would be a fresh pot of coffee waiting for Jake when he ambled down the stairs. He never expected it of you, it wasn't your job, but the fact that it was something that you set up every night before you went to bed so that he could fill his travel mug on the way to work was one of those things that just endeared you to him more.
The fact that you did last night, even though you'd had a little fight (about something ridiculous, he couldn't even remember what it was about), made him pause at the coffee maker even after he'd filled his mug. It was Saturday, he didn't have to be anywhere, nor did he want to be. He just wanted to be in bed with you, waking up slowly.
Jake crept into the guest room, where you had opted to sleep last night. He had a love / hate relationship with the bedspread in there, too flowery. It reminded him home, of his grandmother. He hated seeing you in it because you should've spent the night in bed with him.
He lifted the covers, crawling in behind you. You immediately scooted back against his chest, as he wrapped his arms around you, held you close.
"I'm sorry," he murmured, kissing the top of your head.
Your hand drifted idly over one of his. "I know."
