I've been studying hard lately so I need to relax and this is the effect.🤣
look like Sigurd would like to play with you, Eldigan😆
i walked my friends through my art process here's my sigurd i used as the example lol
Mermay meme, mermeme, memermay 🎤 🧜♀️ 🙌
So like, I don't buy for a second that FE4's part 1 is about Sigurd being a maliciously incompetent force within the context of FE4 itself? Sigurd is, at best, an idiot. But like:
Sigurd is not the unwitting pawn of the Loptyr Cult. And if he really is, then he's not solely that.
He is the wrench in the gears.
He is the Granvale Empire's unwitting pawn, certainly, because he acts, he attaccs, he defends, and Granvale then sweeps up his mess. He plays to Granvale's hand by taking down enemies and seizing their castles, and then is surprised when Granvale comes around and annexes the places when there's no one to stop them. Hence why he's an idiot.
But there are problems that needs to be addressed:
A. No one in Jugdral has the capabilities of stopping the Loptyrian Army without fighting head on.
B. The Loptyrian Army is in all the fucking walls. THE LOPTYRIANS ARE ALREADY IN THE GODDAMN WALLS. Like half the continent is actively being manipulated by Loptyrians preying on the greed and vices of bad actors like Chagall and Elliot and Lambert and Hilda. The entirety of Jugdral is compromised in a conspiracy that's been sown for a long while. At this point, it's a little too late to stop them, but someone's gotta try.
C. Fighting the Loptyrian Army means fighting across numerous nations that are currently trying to squeeze the life out of their own people. Granvale, Agustria, Silesse, Verdane, and the Spirit Forest, are all FUCKED. Granvale? Conquering. Agustria? Civil War with intent to Conquer. Verdane? Invasion with intent of pillaging and rape. Spirit Forest? THE LOPTYRIANS ARE ALREADY IN THE TREES. And Isaach? Super fucked, it's fighting Granvale concurrently. There should be so much bad blood between Isaach and Granvale that Seliph could have been turned away at the border. And yet there isn't because of one very important man and his team of queers and incestuous people. Not sorry, lmao. I'm gonna say it, always. Some of them keep it in the family, it's just a matter of who allowed it.
(Side note, there's something to be said about how many of these people running the country are bad actors, but at the same time the people that join you are the people who see the bullshit for what it is, bullshit. Lachesis, Lewyn, Ayra, Claud without an E, etc etc etc.)
But think about it even further than that.
What did Sigurd accomplish?
A. Stopping bad actors in the immediate when no one else would.
B. Bringing together the people who would sow the seeds of rebellion in the distant future. The First Generation.
C. Going in, swinging, and leavin'. Deirdre.
What did Seliph accomplish?
A. Stopping bad actors in the immediate when no one else would.
B. Bringing together the people who would sow the seeds of rebellion in the near future. The Second Generation.
C. Going in, swinging, and leavin'. Julia.
The main difference between Sigurd and Seliph is that Seliph succeeded where Sigurd failed. Sigurd thought he could trust Arvis, and he died for it. Seliph knew he could not trust Julius & Manfroy, and how did he know this? Because that's how Sigurd failed. That's how Arvis failed. I find it so hard to believe that Sigurd, a man partially aware of the conspiracy of the Loptyrian Cult, is somehow a villain for his failure to succeed at doing the exact same thing Seliph did.
The primary difference is that he failed.
If he survived? And he killed Arvis? Or he knew to run away from Arvis? He would have had the fighting chance to fix things. No, we shouldn't annex people, but Granvale chose to take full advantage of the warring states being aggravated by the Loptyrian Cult and, if nothing was to be done, all the countries would have been fucked faster. Seliph's life would not be easier by Sigurd doing nothing. And putting on Sigurd for his failure to succeed is unfair when there are so many people who chose willfully to be bad actors like Arvis.
fe4 has been on the brain and not once has it ever been mentioned in-game
