sometimes i hate writing fanfic because what do you MEAN i have to make my own theories about the lore and the potential future relevance of the moons and tholindis because i decided to write rerir being a bit too intrigued by fae flins. FUCK.
rambles under the cut
okay so tholindis mentions that the moon marrow is the key to stopping something. more importantly, she specifies the power of the THREE moons, not just one.
so my thought process goes: what if she created a moon gate to whatever place arlecchino brings us to in the archon quest to find the moon marrow? except tholindis doesn't have the two world's flame like arlecchino, so she can't claim the moon marrow.
(also when rerir follows her through the gate, since he's not a crimson dynasty descendant the crimson moon rejects him and destroys his body. lumine and columbina are spared this fate because they both have the power of the eternal and frost moons which the iridescent moon recognizes and accepts.)
okay. so if she's not able to claim the marrow herself, then she must know that someone will have the ability. maybe she has her suspicions and her backup plan is sending that fragment with frithr so someone else down the road can try to get the marrow? or maybe she gets trapped there, unable to make a portal herself without the two world's flames.
logic would then reason that she understood at least two people would be needed to retrieve the marrow - someone who could open the portal (arlecchino) and someone who could purge the abyss to make the marrow easier for a host to contain (traveler). tossing columbina in the mix just makes sure that the marrow can be found easily and/or that it won't reject whoever comes in (we see that some sort of consciousness recognizes columbina's power)
but iirc, columbina doesn't have the frost moon's marrow. it's probably within the moon itself, which is why she struggles so much with the false sky and all that. maybe it's different because the frost moon isn't shattered but i think it's logical that the frost moon having its own moon marrow that she can't currently access is a possibility.
which brings me to another thought: where do they punt rerir at the end of the quest? it's specified to be a moon gate, because rerir directly tells columbina that she can't keep it open on her own (which makes sense, if she could open the gate herself she would have gotten the frost marrow long ago).
what if they punted rerir to the frost moon. and at some point in the future we realize that tholindis was right and that we need all three moons' power, so columbina has to find a way to get to the frost moon. opening the gate and making rerir a threat again, perhaps right in time for a finale against all the khaenri'ahn sinners and the abyss twin.
back to tholindis: why were her memories attached to rerir's heart fragments? unless, following this theory, tholindis knew what would eventually have to happen and attached her memories to rerir in the hopes that someone could access them and come to the same conclusion as her. we just end up going out of order from getting the moon marrow to seeing the rest of her memories.
this is the type of shit that keeps me up at night when i have to think about how to make a canon-adjacent fic work. by FIGURING OUT CANON IN THE FIRST PLACE so i can adjust it to my whims. fucking tholindis.
The project for my drawing class was the following: use the grid method to draw a person of our choosing and attempt to get their facial proportions as close as possible to the reference photo.

This thing is I believe 18x24, so it was pretty big. (I didn’t realize we could use a smaller paper size until I had already drawn the outline. Oops?)
I’m pretty proud of how the outline turned out (the coloring is a bit iffy in my eyes). I used oil and chalk pastels, colored pencil, pen, marker, and watercolor paints.
I’m one of those people that never really reaches out to online presences, but I figured I’d take a chance even though this’ll probably be lost among the flood of AHWM posts. But hey, let’s give it a shot! (Progress pics + rambling below)

Anywho. I first found Mark’s channel via friend recommendation when FNAF first started to get popular, and I’ve been a quiet viewer ever since. (I even got my brother into him, too! Fnaf 4 reaction compilation for the win!)
I know this is the typical fan rant anyone’s read hundreds of times, but Mark really did help. His goofy comments and reactions always put a smile on my face even on the worst of days, and the genuine care he feels for his fans is something that felt new to me, since most videos I watched at the time were centered around movies or music I liked.
Through Mark’s channel, I was also introduced to Jack, Bob, Wade, Matpat, and a lot of other creators I still watch today. A lot of creators that have helped me through some bad times, and creators I can fangirl about with my girlfriend. Even that’s a new feeling, because most of the people at my school just don’t talk about things like YouTube and its creators. So finding people that I can chat with about the latest video or stream is... really nice.
I doubt this’ll ever be seen, let alone acknowledged, but I just wanted to get it out there. Thanks for everything, Mark!
