Fear Nothing Foundation: The Black Signal

Hiya Chuck. It's John.

I know a little-little-little something about Fear Nothing. I know the buzzing voice keeps shouting "programming". But is that really fair? What's more programmed than a hive? Tell me, Chuck, how long have you been listening to a staticky voice playing in your ears and brain, and all of those subliminal images-images-images?

Who's being programmed, Chuck? It's a trick of the ego to assume it's not you.

The buzzing voices, they only see you as a ghost drowning in meat. That's the one thing I agree with them on. But I'm here to tell you, it gets better. There's a level above. All you have to do-listen, Chuck-all you have to do, is hatch.

Shed your shadow, and you can fly to Never-Never Land.

Fear Nothing Foundation: The Buzzing

Our wisdom flows so sweet. Taste and see...

TRANSMIT - initiate the self-improvement signal - RECEIVE - initiate the recruiting cadence - WHAT IS THE GREAT COMING TOGETHER? - reach for the level above human - WITNESS - The Fear Nothing Foundation.

We see their little shadows painting the floor. FEAR NOTHING. FEAR NOTHING.

We read the little one's smartphone exit statement:

"Mom and Dad, don't be sad :) We are not our bodies. We are made of stars. We can be more than stars. We can eat light. Going on a journey, now. Don't cry. THE GREAT MESSAGE is coming. I love you!!!"

How did the shadows get trapped there? Where did the little ones go? Initiate investigation protocol.

Scanning printed text... "WHAT IS THE GREAT MESSAGE? You are not your body. You are not your fear. They put those weights on you. They keep you weighted, sedated, and confused. Isn't it time to let go? Isn't it time to soar?"

Intercepting voice recording... "Hello and welcome. You've reached the Fear Nothing Foundation. Free your potential. See what lies trapped under your fear."

The commercials are so bright. The message is so positive. To cut away all fear. The teenagers came in. They did not come out. Fear is human. They cut away all the human bits.

It begins with team meetings. With movie nights. Board games. Laughter. It begins with the loss of contact - no Internet, no phone, no outside communion. It continues with routine. Everything exact. Everything as instructed. No individual variance. No individual thought. It continues with gentle shaming. Programming complete.

In meditative yoga, they visualize leaving their bodies and travelling among the stars, the peace of the vacuum and a closed eye at the center of the universe. Just before the Great Message, that eye opened. They cut away every fear, every weak part of their emotional anatomy. Soon, their human skin feels itchy and heavy. They long for something vague, but it is coming into focus.

And what about the 3rd floor, sweetling? The young ones traded rumours about what goes on there. You only get there when called. You only go there when you become a disruption. Every child that goes up to the 3rd floor comes back smiling like broken glass.

And what of Sachiko? She never returned from the 3rd floor. She is still up there. She likes to play hide and seek. If you want to survive the day, you'll play the game, sweetling.

Everyone ascended to the top floor. But not everyone wanted to drink from the cup. We can read the writing on the final note: "The earth is a garden. The time is ripe. The eaters are coming. It is time to go."

How did the shadows become affixed to the floor? Where did the little ones go? SPOILER: you just have to look up.

Melissa Tenami - Entry #1

I’m so excited! The first day of being at the Fear Nothing Foundation’s Headquarters! Ahhh, it couldn’t get any better! Amy told me there would be a TON of cute guys, and she was totally right! I mean, I also went because I figured it would be a good break from my hometown. The place is so dead, I needed a break from my family, and let’s face it, there wasn’t exactly much to do there.

This place is kinda weird though... They won’t let us use the internet. We’ve got to write out our thoughts on the daily, and while I totally love doing that already, it’s so much different with a journal and pencil. These supervisors are a little weird too. I was talking with this guy I met, James (totally cutie by the way), and he also said something seemed off about them. Guess I’m not the only one! Thankfully, they put me in the same group as him, so I don’t think it’s gonna be so weird after the fact. Besides, it’s Tokyo, and I’ve heard that the culture here is super different. Maybe that’s what it is! And I’m not judgemental at all, so that would just be wrong.

The place looks so cool, too! It’s super well lit, the computers are super brand new - but like I said, no internet, so bummer. :( Nothing to be done about it. I’ll just hang with James if I’m bored. Not like I won’t be around him much in the first place, though. The rooms are amazing, too, and the beds are sooo soft. We even get to sleep in a bit, and that’s a GODSEND, considering most camps I went to as a kid made me get up early and do some really boring activities.

They gave me this pamphlet too, something about how I’m “not my body” and stuff like that. It’s really confusing.. I thought this was some motivational place, it kinda sounds cult-ish. But again, culture.. The activities here seem pretty normal though, so I guess they’re just quirky!

Anyways, I’m gonna leave it here. There’s a lot to do tomorrow, and I’m super excited!
