The maze

for @hp-fearfest ‘s prompt: labyrinth  CW: Maze Runner AU, Angst, being trapped, hopelessness,  Hard stone. It was all encompassing.  Stone beneath him. Stone beside him. Stone in front of and behind him. With each sharp turn he was greeted with more never ending stone. And with each sharp turn he was becoming more and more hopelessly lost.  He needed to get out. He needed to get out now.  He had dragged them both into the maze. Driven mad by desperation, perhaps.  Perhaps, it didn’t matter the reason.  Time was running out. Light was dwindling.  Soon the doors would close.  Soon they’d be hopelessly trapped.  Soon they’d be dead.  The grievers would make sure of that.  But really, Harry had killed them both.  He’d condemned them both to death the moment he stepped foot into the maze. He should’ve known better. He had known better.  If only Draco hadn’t followed him.  Hadn’t followed him to die.  But he had and now Harry had to die knowing he’d killed the only one he loved.  A heavy grinding filled the air as the distant doors slid to a close with a final resounding boom.
