She needed a change.
So, the wig, yes! The costume, yes! And she painted soft circles around her eyes and mouth in the mirror for good measure. She met Beatrice's reflected gaze, and cracked a smile. Yes, that same wicked, gleeful grin! It's been a while, hasn't it? Been well, I hope, witch-sama? She blew a kiss to that reflection--today, she would be Beatrice, and for better or worse she couldn't stand to hate Beatrice's face. Not now, not today.
Careful.
What the witch did next wasn't exactly magic.
For her first appearance in this form, Beatrice perched atop the roof of a fairly well-known sector 6 department store, legs crossed, megaphone in hand. She'd appeared as if out of nowhere, they would say later! But only because none of those crowds bothered to look up until they heard the crackling, and, following the crackling, the cackling.
"Good eeeeeeevening!" that witch leered, voice magnified to hit the crowds. "Having fun? Well, we'll all be having fun soon enough! You see, I've decided to play a little game with you all~ Do you want to know how to play? Huuuuuh? Dooooo you? It's simple! You see, I've set a fire somewhere in this building, and it's yoooooour job to find it before the alarm goes off!
Think you can handle it? Ahahahahaha~!"
And with that she stood, walking back across the roof. She'd be waiting inside. She'd be watching.
