I recently read an article that analyzed planners and those who are disorganized. The study found that those who plan too meticulously (i.e. daily planners, hour by hour itineraries) were less productive than those who make monthly goals. One of my favorite studyblr's @post--grad is engaging in a monthly resolutions post for this year, followed by end of month updates to track progress. It seems to be a really great pathway to analyzing one's own maladaptive planning and time management strategies - you can count me in!!
2017 is all about progress. Please join the hustle and message me your results, it is so motivating.
February Goals
Finally finish Oblivion by David Foster Wallace. One of my bigger goals of the year is to read 25 books for fun. I recently made a Goodsreads account to help stay on track. You can follow me here.
Stay up to date on my bullet journal. I normally keep it fairly updated the first month of the semester and then everything seems to catch on fire and the journal ends up sitting on a shelf for the rest of the semester; unused, collecting dust. Here’s to keeping out the flames through February.
Don’t fall behind in reading for classes. No matter how hard I try, somehow I get chapters behind in a certain class and then have to spend an entire Saturday catching up. I’d like to keep my life a little ahead of schedule because finals always suck and I am determined to discover how to feel semi stable when the storm hits. One month at a time.
Attempt morningpages 3x a week. What’s Morningpages? It’s a 3 page stream of consciousness writing session in the morning; ideally, when you wake up. I am currently researching for my current writing project rather than actively writing. I need some exercise in writing that isn’t research papers and analytical essays.
Apply for Graduation!!! The day is finally here!!!
I am doing great on my new year’s resolution to eat healthier and work out consistently. I have really noticed a positive change in my mood and motivation. I want to continue my weekly routine with the same consistency.
