Deena looked up at the sound of her wife’s voice. She didn’t want to bake cookies no. She was drowning in paperwork. There was still a killer on the loose. And every 30 minutes she was getting a text from their son about why they should be hightailing it out of town. She was 60% sure he had already packed up his room. But Deena had always been horrible at telling her wife no. “of course darling. I’ll be right there.” she smiled, closing her laptop.

Amante drove Deena's car into the shop near their old house. It been years since they left shadyside but his mom was an avid supporter of all "shady" small businesses. He parked, going into the small shop. "Hello? anyone here?" he called out, ringing the small bell.Why couldn't she just let him take it to a pep boys? They had snacks at least.

Deena's eyes squinted in the light as she heard her wife's voice. She had the house phone in her hand and Deena groaned. She took the phone from Sam, but pulled her towards her anyway. If she had to take a work call first thing when she woke up, she wanted to be holding her wife. "Go for Johnson." she said into the receiver, leaning her head on Sam. She made sounds of confirmation before hanging up, tossing the phone on the bed. "I have to go." she sighed, burying her face in her sister.
