ollie // winter wonders.

frankly, winter is not good for olivander and hugo’s realtionship as frankly hugo’s behaviour prompts many feelings of betrayal and resentment in his brother.

what happened to protecting him and looking out for him hugo what the hell happened to that?????

Ollie + The Bubble

christmas is just about safe spaces isn’t it

it’s about feeling comfortable and feeling secure and finding places that nurture that and just sort of clinging to them for dear life

it’s about a series of bubbles, really

and as ridiculous as it might sound like the gay bar is an important bubble for him

like the puppies all probably frequented it like lbr the gay bars are the best bars and they’re always a great night out and mmmm the puppies at the gay bar is another story entirely but mmmm lbr like you don’t not go out just because one or two of your group isn’t up to it or isn’t in town like

i’m sure there was at least one occurrence over christmas where todd and ollie went out alone like lbr it probably happened quite often and idk like lita was probably at home for the evening having family time and charmaine and hugo were probably off on a date or playing with beatrix or something idk the point is that the booth was one thing

but kissing todd in public is a whole other matter

it’s not a ringo thing like it’s literally just an insecure thing and a fearful thing and idk like if i were todd i’d be a bit upset about it because lbr he has no problem kissing him when they’re alone but mmmm when people are around he’s not so sure he’s not so sure at all

and to be honest like when they’re at the gay bar i think he’s a bit more comfortable and that fear is a little less prominent in his mind and it’s not that when he’s out normally he pays much attention to how he acts around todd like i think really the only thing he won’t do is kiss him but like

that’s just it isn’t it like it’s the kissing and it’s taking that leap and it’s finding little pockets where he feels safe and secure and (mostly) uncaring about whether anyone sees him kiss his best friend because that’s what he’s doing like he’s kissing his best friend and i think that when he’s in a bubble he really feels that that’s okay

Puppies + House Parties

wow okay before i start let me just say that this is the second time i’m writing this like the first time i did i don’t think my computer could handle it okay like my charger sparked and then shUT OFF LIKE THE WHOLE THING SHUT DOWN

and then it wouldn’t work for a few minutes?????

and i panicked????

but it’s cool like i think it’s working now

the puppies and house parties

like idk lamb house parties are a whole different ball game aren’t they like it’s easier to lose people in the club and it’s easy to miss things but idk how big are the houses these parties are in like there are only so many doors to hide behind am i right

idk like especially on that christmas break like jesus christ it was probably like the lion king okay you could definitely feel the love and sex was written in the skies like fuck i hope they were giving out condoms as party favours

idk like it was a long autumn i would think that they all get a little more loose than usual like let the drinks flow the puppies have arrived

typically in a house party setting lita sort of congregates near the fireplace and idk lamb the puppies have been so good for her like she’s ///talking/// to people and i mean obviously she’d rather chat with the puppies but idk they all have a tendency to wander off don’t they so idk she’s content to sort of set up camp for a little while and maybe she’ll do some wandering herself

house parties must generally be an unpleasant experience for todd like i’m not going to lie to you like ollie really just welcomes the attention and he might be blushing but that’s just encouraging the girls isn’t it and oh dear oh dear i hope you haven’t forgotten about the baggy of sweets he carries around to make friends with and ugh they are all such a sight like ollie’s been dragged over to the couch and there are long legs draped across his lap and arms around his shoulders and he and the girls are just munching on sweets and the girls are cooing over him and ugh gross who brought the problematic petal to the party

my computer can literally not handle this story like the charger is 100% broken it keeps sparking and shutting down the computer i have put it by the door thank god i have a genius appt tomorrow already booked like this is a crisis

anyway.

sometimes lita unburies ollie from the girls and takes him outside for a fresh drink and a chat and some fresh air and bless her for that like one of the girls was getting a bit handsy with him and he was feeling a bit awkward like come on guys he just wanted to hear about how gumdrop’s puppies are doing he didn’t want foreign hands on his lap

once they come back in he likes to get in on the drinking games and then things are better like the girls leave him alone a bit and tbh they kind of have to like he’s high strung and he’s everywhere god he just gets so excited about beer pong you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

charmaine just sort of likes to dance????

idk she keeps close to the speakers and she gets really excited when a good song comes on and she makes friends with whoever’s playing dj that night and she always asks for come on eileen and idk i would think no matter what the puppies are doing when that song comes on they all seem to come together and it is fantastic and it is lovely and oh goodness gracious charmaine just loves that song and loves her friends my gosh

she gets really flustered when couples take over the bathrooms because she really has to wee but you know what if she’s had enough to drink she doesn’t care like she and lita disappear out into the back garden and lita can block her while she crouches down in the bushes

idk like the more she has to drink the less of a fuck she gives really

i say that but what i really mean is that she swears a bit more than usual and maybe works up the balls to speak to jordi when she and hugo are still together instead of avoiding them for the evening

goodness gracious though at christmas jesus christ

i mean it’s really just a lot of build up isn’t it like ollie is standing awfully close to todd and the music is loud but it’s not thAT loud like i’m p sure you don’t have to lean in to speak to him (((****breathe words against his neck)))

charmaine and hugo are no better jesus christ like i would imagine she and lita spend their usual amount of time gossiping in the corner but oh dear she’s come across him at the drinks table and she asks him if he’d like to dance with her again tonight and she’s sort of looked him over a bit and oh my god charmaine can you please try to look a little less outwardly pleased with yourself jesus christ

i don’t even want to know what sort of shenanigans lita’s getting up to jesus christ all i know is that she doesn’t head back to the trotter house with everyone else

house parties are just a lot of build up man idk like that must be one hell of a cab ride and i would imagine ollie’s quite impatient like he doesn’t even bother taking his shoes off at the door he’s just dragging todd upstairs behind him but mmmm i would think that charmaine dawdles a bit and she’s happy just to have a bit of a kiss in the front hall but idk hands are wandering better lock your bedroom door behind you hugo

Charmaine + DIY Beauty Tips

i wasn’t sure that she would be but i think that char’s quite into girly things like she probably would have been subscribed to maggie’s youtube channel if she’d been that age (or alive) at the time and she doesn’t take it SUPER SUPER seriously but she does like to put a bit of effort in most of the time and she definitely takes the longest to get ready on nights out and she’s not a massive shopper but she gets excited about going into lush and honestly a lot of it is just bath products like she gets really excited about those bath bombs and nice smelling bubble baths and she probably has like 4 different shampoos on rotation just because they all smell so nice

when she gets bored she likes doing those diy beauty tutorials on blogs and i’d expect all of the puppies have been her guinea pigs at least once but todd is her favourite for this sort of thing and she always tries the yummy homemade face masks and stuff on him and just gives him the rest of it to eat out of the bowl

like bless her for thinking of him but i don’t think that 90% of them taste that nice so maybe they should stick to the haribo bag instead

she’s tried nail art and homemade exfoliating scrubs and diy pedicures and idk like they’re just a bunch of fun things to try out like they’re just a nice way to pass a sunday afternoon aren’t they

i would imagine that even before they were together hugo was the subject of many a diy project but after mmmm after idk breaks are busy like hugo can you revise while she puts this hair mask on you like it’ll make your hair even more beautiful than usual she swears

idk like i’d imagine half of these projects don’t have noticeable results like nothing’s really changed but um sorry charmaine’s p sure there’s a massive difference like she takes before and after photos and like look at the after photo hugo you look like you belong in a shampoo commercial

christ she concentrates so hard while she’s doing it as well like i don’t even know if hugo’s allowed in the same room while she’s mixing things because i mean look at the christmas cookie debacle and she probably reminds him of that while she draws an invisible line across the kitchen like that is your area hugo so go occupy it and update your blog or something

ugh i sincerely hope she’s not been shown the blog like as if she needs any further reason to adore him oh my god i can’t even begin to speak about the lOOK of utter adoration like that is literally the only word for it okay she just adores him charmaine absolutely adores hugo

Ollie + Oh Dear.

right okay

in november ollie did a very silly thing oh dear

he got mono.

and oh dear lamb oh dear like i think everyone in that house is very conscious about getting sick because oh dear when one of them gets sick it’s likely that at least two more of them do like there are a lot of trotters running about the place and oh dear ollie was adamant that he wasn’t going to give anyone else this deadly plague (pls ollie.) and so idk he said his goodbyes (from a five foot distance no hugs unless you want this disease and lbr he doesn’t know why you would) and then it was off to hunter and gustave’s for a few weeks

like lbr gustave wasn’t bothered like he’s happy to take any of the babies on at any point and lbr like he’s resilient to all cold and flu and disease okay he is a rock he is just not resilient to dehydration and exhaustion whatever gustave you win some you lose some am i right am i right

anyway it was a long few weeks leading up to christmas and ollie missed lita and todd very very much and idk he had some coursework to do and i would imagine he spent a lot of time doing sudoku puzzles and whatnot but that’s also a lot of time to think isn’t it

and idk like i think he changed his mind several times over like maybe it wastoo much time to think you know what i mean like all i know is that he got home and he went straight to todd’s and they were back in that territory again like they were back in the kissing territory except now they were doing a lot more than kissing and that made things very complicated i would think

and this might be the point where you start liking ollie a little less oh dear

idk lamb he is just not sure he is not sure and that is really horrible of him to do these things anyway and he’s not ready and he feels like he has to make a decision and he feels like it has to be a forever decision and he is only 18 and forever is an awfully long time

oh dear commitment oh dear ollie oh dear oh dear

like i’m sure christmas is lovely and he straddles todd’s waist and speaks to him about all sorts of things and sometimes it’s serious stuff and sometimes it’s absolute nonsense and sometimes he’s just feeling a bit cheeky and they kiss but it’s not an ambush anymore like he’s still not sorted things out but that’s not working and maybe the best thing to do is throw himself into it and hope for the best and idk that’s what he does and so for a few weeks things are probably really lovely and ollie never comes out and says that they’re a couple and in his mind they’re really not and he’s just curious and that’s not very nice ollie like that’s actually not very nice at all

and he’s just not sure.

and he’s just not ready.

and he’s just not a lot of things and it surprises me a bit that he struggles with it as much as he does because like look at him he grew up in a very pro-love environment like he has a solid example of a long-term gay couple in hunter and gustave and he has ringo and gus too and still he just can’t get there like he cannot idk like accept it i guess and i think that really comes down to the gang and the stabbing and that really scared him lamb like that really really scared him and i think it affected him more than it affected gus tbh

like the world can be a really nasty place and kids can be really nasty and like this is ollie he has always been very well liked and very well received and i think the idea that he might not is very intimidating to him and he doesn’t easily do something that might jeopardize that and i hope i’m making sense here oh dear

ollie is familiar with the hospital okay like between gracie having jemima and mum having beatrix and all of charmaine’s accidents like he is familiar this is a familiar place

but gus really sticks out to him like i don’t imagine that the babies were brought to the hospital when that happened like that is scary and they probably didn’t know how bad it was and i think molly and colin probably got called over to watch beatrix and keep ollie and hugo company and oh dear it was quite late and they were probably in their pajamas and mum and dad had taken etta with them to the hospital to see gus and ollie was texting gracie but idk she didn’t really know what was happening and there was probably a lot going on and after a while she just stopped texting back and those were a long few hours and that was a very long night

it’s partially concern for todd but like let’s not glamorize this okay like it’s also concern for himself like he doesn’t want to be in the ambulance and he doesn’t want to be the reason molly moon is called at 1 in the morning to come over and he doesn’t want to be the reason mum is crying while she tries to find her other shoe

and it’s not just about admitting it to other people it’s also about admitting it to himself and he doesn’t know what he is and there are so many words for this lamb and he doesn’t even know what half of them mean like what is he what do these labels mean like he likes kissing girls but he likes kissing todd too and what if he doesn’t like kissing any other boys what if that’s the case then what is he

it’s just very confusing and he is just not sure he doesn’t know he doesn’t know

idk i was hoping the month + that he spent with hunter might have done him some good like talking to hunter was i think pivotal for gus but ollie’s not gus and it’s not as easy for him as it was for gus and that’s really the whole point isn’t it like that is the bottom line

and idk after christmas he just starts to withdraw a bit and he doesn’t want to fool around anymore and he’s not kissing anyone else but idk after a while he’s not kissing todd either

and idk i don’t blame todd for being upset like not only does he have charmaine to deal with but he’s got fckn olivander too and oh dear todd lita doesn’t really fancy herself a psychiatrist but she can give it a go like she can try

when it comes time for charmaine to leave she just

it is just very bittersweet and i think she’s genuinely convinced herself up until this point that she wants to move and she wants to go but i think it’s like with hugo on the first day of nursery like she just forgot that the puppies weren’t going too and i don’t think it really hits her until she’s making her rounds at their houses and just

lita is difficult because lita is her best friend and she’s the only other girl and it’s not that she loves the boys any less but it’s just that the girls can talk about girl things that they might not want to talk about with the boys because the boys just flat out probably wouldn’t understand

and lita is not big on hugging like christ she is her father’s daughter but she’s the one that pulls charmaine in for a hug and oh no is she going to let go i don’t know i don’t know i don’t know i am upset

but todd is just as difficult and i don’t imagine she’s spent a lot of time in his room before and i think that sort of hits her too like she and todd have a very special relationship but she suddenly feels like she’s wasted time lamb like they could be closer she could be closer to him and she’s missed her chance she’s leaving she’s missed it and oh no charmaine isn’t really a big crier but i think it’s v important to note that todd is the only goodbye that she cries through and she’s not sobbing but there are tears and she’s wiping at them and sort of laughing through it because she feels stupid and really bad for crying and oh christ she just loves todd a lot wow

ollie is just

wow idk ollie is heavy and difficult and he has sort of grabbed her by the hands and he is so serious like it is vital to him that he tells her this and charlisten to me okay you don’t have to leave you don’t have to and he wants you to be 100% sure that it’s what you want to do because you could stay and he’s not saying that she could stay he’s asking her to stay and he doesn’t want her to go because of hugo but he also doesn’t want her to go because of himself and she’s sort of flattened a bit of his hair that was sticking out at a funny angle (she’d interrupted a nap) and her hand’s on his cheek and this doesn’t change anything ollie nothing is going to change

are you sure charmaine are you 100% sure you could stay you could stay you could stay

i’m upset because i think she stays quite close to his bedroom door when it comes to hugo and she’s doing it again she’s keeping her distance and she’s trying to protect herself and i don’t know that she knows what to say and there is a part of me that hopes that he doesn’t either because i am upset and if he touches her it is going to hurt and it already hurts
