Finding Light in the Darkness || Zombieverse AU Mira & Daryl (featheredleather)

Sitting on a wall on the outskirt of the woods, Mira swung her legs, eating from a bag of beef jerky. She found a whole box full of beef jerky in the back of a convenience store. It was the find of a lifetime. Her bag was full of jerky and a few other food items- cans and some old m&ms.

Looking around her she heard some rustling in the woods, jumping off of the wall and turning around, the bag in one hand and a knife in the other, "Whose there?" She said sternly, hiding the bag of food behind her back.

Swallowing the mouthful of meat she took a few more steps back, "Show yourself!" She said loudly. It couldn't have been biters, there was no moaning or stumbling footsteps.

So much was racing through Rick's mind and it was beginning to give him a headache. The flu, Carol committing cold-blooded murder, the medicine that needed to arrive soon, his children and how they could catch the flu any moment. It was all too much and was beginning to weigh his shoulders down. Rick stood outside, staring ahead at the walkers by the fences. Once the world had been peaceful, once everything had been normal.
