Oh yes. Actually, we had no idea it had happened. My husband and I were in the studio over the garage. He worked from home due to the impending snowstorm and I was doing some sewing. When I came downstairs our contractor said, “Well, I screwed up...”
I thought he meant he had made a mistake on the stairs! He took me outside and showed me the charred window and what was left our porch ceiling.
We’re taking it as a good sign for future parenting hurdles that both of us were first concerned with his well-being and, although the damage is pretty bad, we were able to acknowledge that the damage is fixable. Everything will be okay. Luckily, in this case we don’t even have to bug our insurance company.
