25th of February 2010-- Guerilla Gardening on Princess Street (London)
Is this a coincidence? Aside from the Moritzplatz Princess St. there is another one in London, where an urban gardening project is taking place under the motto “PImp Your Pavement”. It is the residence of Richard Reynolds, the author of Guerilla Gardening: A Botanical Manifesto. This garden is also renowned in the activists’ scene. There are insights from those who believe in the cause (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssz8AvCrqoM), that “the world can make even outside the four walls”.

1st of February 2010-- Greening Industrial Ruins
The Berliner Zeitung reported from Detroit on how to transform the ruins of the industrial society for the future- fields, factories and assembly lines into greenhouses and raised beds. The documentary film “Urban Roots” shows fostering for basic needs like ensuring food security of the urban poor by a group of activists who understand the collapse of Motor Town Detroit. When an industrial era comes to an end, creative solutions can be formulated from below, involving people and neighborhoods, initiating a movement for sustainable transformation of cities. The documentary makes it so blatant, that people are only temporary dwellers in a larger cycle of life. On the Tempelhof Airport you can see a plane take off, but foxes will romp through the snow and into the mines of the Ruhr, returning the forest that looms in front of what used to be a large-scale coal mining area.

My friend George once told me that taking a photo of someone taking a photo is like googling Google.
