"The joy of agony" Perhaps, sports are fairy-tales for adults. Not always with happy endings, though. There comes a time when a game ceases to remain just a game. It transcends dimensions, permeates through the inevitable, and brings with it a sense of higher purpose. The sportsmen do not play this game any further, instead they leave the vulnerable humans beneath their hardened exteriors to execute the game till the curtains fall. Before the finals, victory was what each side was playing for. At the end, inexplicably, victory was reduced to just a formality to define which set of hands would lift the goldenware. When the meaning of triumph belittles itself, that's when we know we are fortunate beings to witness the spectacle that sports is. It wasn't sports, to be honest. It was art in its highest attainable manifestation. Thanks for teaching us that 'almosts' too can be incredibly beautiful. urvishmehta.tumblr.com #NZvsEng #CWC2019 #FedererVsDjokovic #Wimbledon https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz7R91_HoEQsHa3Qm_lBpTOOc_bvNh9TiwRlYw0/?igshid=7pfbwnid2els
