Blind date

Edoardo didn’t know why on earth he had let Fede talk him into this. He had never been on a blind date before and he didn’t really feel like trying it. But Fede had been dating this girl, Eva, for quite some time now and he said that she had a really cute friend that was up for a double date. So tonight he was going on a date with some random girl. Silvia, was her name apparently. God help him. It’s not like he’s bad at talking to women and he knows that he’s attractive and a lot of girls like him, but not knowing who he’s going out with is a bit uncomfortable.

When he and Fede arrive at the restaurant they quickly find their seats and wait for the girls to arrive.

“Oh come on Edo, don’t be such a downer, it’s just one date” Fede said to him when he noticed the frown on Edoardo’s face.

“Yeah, yeah I know”. He really didn’t feel up for this.

As soon as Fede turned away from him they saw two girls walk in through the door and the second Edoardo laid eyes on her his breath caught in his throat. Eva and the girl, Silvia he thought, walked up to them and took a seat opposite Edoardo and Fede.

“Edo, this is Eva, my girlfriend but you already knew that, and this is....”. The girl extended her hand towards Edoardo and he shook it.

“Eleonora, nice to meet you” she said with a smile that didn’t seem to reach her eyes.

“H-hi”. It was all Edoardo managed to say. Oh lord, his face probably looked like a tomato right about now. What was going on with him? Edoardo Incanti does not get shy and embarrassed around girls. Why was he acting like this? Then Eleonora looked at him from across the table with a curious look on her face, like she was judging him or wondering why he was acting so weird.

“Sorry, Silvia couldn’t make it so I dragged Ele here with me instead” Eva told Edo and Fede. Fede greeted Eleonora and then she turned to Eva and whispered “you owe me for this”. Eva smiled at her and squeezed her hand. It looked like Eleonora really didn’t want to be here.

After they had ordered their food, Fede had excused himself to go to the restroom and Eva had followed soon after. Wonder what that was about. So now, Edoardo and Eleonora were sitting alone together and Edoardo couldn’t think of a single thing to say. The silence was getting more uncomfortable by the second.

“So, how do you know Fede?” Eleonora asked him. He was glad for the conversation but when he answered his voice came out weird and squeaky.

“Um, we’ve been friends since forever, we kind of grew up together”.

“I see” she said. And then she was silent again. Eleonora was looking around the restaurant and watching the people around them so Edoardo took the opportunity to really look at her.

She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Her thick, brown hair reaching just below her shoulders and her eyes were piercing green and they were so, so beautiful but he also had the feeling that one would not like to be on the receiving end of an angry look from those eyes. She had red lipstick on and it was really hard not to stare at her lips but Edoardo tore his eyes away from them, trying to be a little less creepy. Edoardo realised that he had probably been staring at her for way too long when Eleonora looked up and caught him looking at her. Edoardo blushed and looked away quickly but when he looked back at her she was still looking at him. Eleonora’s lips quirked up a bit at the sides, giving Edoardo a small smile. He did the same. They stayed like that for a few moments.

“Sorry, my mom wouldn’t stop talking on the phone” Eva said as she returned to the table and the moment was ruined. Did she really think that they’d believe her excuse? After a couple of minutes Fede also returned with some lame excuse for why he had taken so long.

Edoardo looked up at Eleonora with a smile and she returned it. It was like they were communicating with their eyes, saying “holy shit our friends are dumb”.

When Edoardo and Fede got home Edoardo told him that they needed to do this again, immediately.

i’m sorry, but am i the only one who saw federico straight up IGNORE my girl eva. he didn’t even wave back. i may be overreacting but i know good and well he saw eva. i really hope it isn’t because of what eva said earlier in the clip of how it’s her fault cause she got too drunk. if it is, ooo idk what i’m gonna do
